Beginning Learner's Levantine Arabic Dictionary

I love this book. It's an excellent resource simply to read from cover to cover to reinforce letter learning, pronunciation, and build vocabulary at the same time. One person mentioned the lack of transliterations as a downside, and that's certainly true (although a few are provided in special situations), but the book more than makes up for that with descriptions of the letter pronuncations at the beginning of each new letter, along with the detailed grammar, cultural, and pronunciation notes offered throughout the book, plus the index of all included words at the end fo the book. (The index is fairly comprehensive but as explained in the book does not contain all forms of all words covered, which would make it very, very long indeed...)If you are learning Levantine Arabic and are a little past the alif-baa stage, this book will help you progress to the point where you can read and/or converse intelligably. Excellent resource, highly recommended!

Best of all of the similar ones. I took off one star for the lack of transliteration which would’ve been helpful. Have not checked the audio feature.Prior knowledge of modern standard Arabic is essential. The book is written in a logical way, far exceeding The usability compared to the other books on the topic.

Lingualism is by far the best option for people looking for quality MSA or colloquial material. Attention to detail, good editing and audio files available on the website.

The print quality is excellent, typography is great and the vocabulary with the examples are great, too. There are a number of surprising word omissions, but this is the 1st edition.
