Makes things a lot easier coming up with measurements

Ever wanted to know the thickness of glass used for a fish tank? This is your key to the answer! Fish tanks often have trim that keeps you from using a standard caliper on it. But with this, I can measure the glass without bothering with the trim. My only problem with it is that the measurements get so accurate, that it will change very quickly if there is ANY angle to the tool what so ever, while trying to measure. So 11/16th's may turn into 23/32nd's with the tiniest least-noticeable twist of the tool. And glass is often measured in "standard" sizes, even if they are off by a millimeter. So it's best to get to know the standards of thickness for what you are measuring so you can get it as close as possible to what you're reading.

I use this when turning down metal on a lathe. Works good in tight areas. Doesn't stay firm as I would like when using. But good for quick check of diameter.

I ordered these calipers to measure various things but mostly for getting some outside measurements of various running shoes I have purchased. The calipers came in a one time use plastic package. Not any hard shell case to protect it against bumping and damaging. It does come with an extra CR2032 battery. The readout is LCD which is clear to read. The ON button also serves as the zero button. The left most button switches between millimeters and inches. I’ve had them for about 8 months now and I was a little surprised when I took them out to use them and the battery was already dead. Thankfully as I mentioned they came with an extra battery.

This seems to measure accurately. It uses two larger batteries rather than the small button cells in some similar digital caliper I looked at. The larger batteries are both good and bad - they are good for long battery life, not as good if you prefer a smaller calipier head.
