A comfortable hiking boot with riding protection.
I ride a Fat Bob, commute to work with it every chance I get. I always wear a helmet and a Klim jacket. When I’m in the twisties I add klim protective jeans and my old alpine stars boots from my younger sport bike days. Finding good riding footwear has been problematic. The racing boots were a bit much for commuting, errands and casual riding so I’d typically wear non riding specific boots like Red wings, Ecco or Keen hikers. The Red Wings were OK as the steel toe kept the shifter from irritating the top of my foot but the heels would sometimes drag in a corner. The hikers didn’t have the heel drag issue but in traffic with lots of shifting, I found myself wanting some toe padding and wishing they had purpose build protection.None of the dozens of “cruiser” boots I tried on at retailers impressed me at all. None fit well and all seemed to be very cheaply made with minimal protective qualities. To me they all seemed like fashion statements without any real practical utility.Enter the Klim Ridgeline. They fit like my Ecco and Keen hikers but add the needed protection and shifting foot padding. The heels are perfect- just enough to keep my feet positively on the pegs yet not too much as to drag on the pavement. Exactly what I was looking for!The boa system is fine, I’ve had snowboarding boots with it so I know it works well to keep your feet in the boot in an impact. If these boots are called upon to protect my feet in a crash I’ll be glad they had the less aesthetically pleasing boa system to more reliably keep my feet protected. If you’ve ridden by many motorcycle accidents you’ve probably noticed the rider’s footwear is often scattered about the scene. For my riding application I can’t imagine a better solution. I absolutely give them my highest recommendation, well done Klim!

Comfortable Protective Boots
Liked these boots so much I bought a second pair in black. Love the convenience of the boa system, although they have to be retightened occasionally if you like a snug tie. That's the only thing that stops me from rating five stars, but truly a minor issue. Great ventilation for summer riding, but I would think they would still be warm enough to wear in the spring or fall in most parts of the country as long as it's not raining. Plenty of protection around the ankles and toes. They have the comfort of a high top tennis shoe and the fit is true. I usually wear an 11 or 11 1/2 and these 11's fit perfectly. The style is great too!

Comfort and Fit
The only complaint is the boots do not come in half sizes. I wear an 11 1/2 and ordered a 12. A slightly thicker sock and the fit is great. The BOA system makes putting and taking the boots off easy as can be. After the ride the boots are comfortable to walk in for hours when needed.I would recommend them hands down.

Size down (good for wide feet).
I have wide feet which usually causes me issues with all my footwear (alway size up for the extra room), I have absolutely no issues with theses boot, normally buy a size 9, however had to size down for the perfect fit. I would buy these again, highly recommend if you have wide feet.

Out of the box, not extremely comfortable but...
I know shoes in general have a break in period, that said - I expected a little better from a brand like Klim. They're built well & look amazing, they just hurt around the ankle and need time to form (I hope). Size 10 feels slightly larger than other 10's I have - I wear thick wool socks when riding to make up for it so that worked out. Crossed a few inches of water with them and it got in through the lower tongue, they don't claim these to be water proof but if you're gonna make a boot like this at least make the tongue water resistant

Motorcycle boots
After buying & returning about 5 other pairs of boots, and trying on various brands at motorcycle shops, I found these. Oh my. Just right fit. Just right grip for wet roads. And the shoe lace system.... priceless.
