My third copy
The first time I read this book it was after checking it out from out local library. I loved it and wanted my own copy so I ordered it from Amazon. It was under rewrite and took about 4 months to get delivered. As soon as I got it I sat down and reacquainted myself with the individual chapters. Then about a month later I saw it come available through the Vine program and ordered it immediately. Now my only problem is trying to figure out who I want to share the book with. It's a great guide for a novice but is also a nice casual read for the experienced gardener. I just hope whoever I give it to will cherish it as much as I do. What a pleasant conundrum. Highly recommend this book for any gardening enthusiast. Would make an outstanding gift for your gardening friends.

Great book for those who are looking to propagate
This book would have received 4 stars, only if the book wouldn't have came slightly damaged from transit. Otherwise, this is a great book to have on hand for those who want to propagate. We bought this for my mother in law's birthday gift.

Super helpful
A lot of books have instructions for colder climates than mine and aren't very helpful here in the Deep South. This works for everywhere. It has techniques, tools, tips for greenhouses vs. outside, and more. I read the reviews and had high hopes, and it's even better than I expected. 100% recommend!

Perfect! You won't regret this purchase!
The media could not be loaded. It is beautiful, and extremely helpful. I wouldn't change a thing. I was a beginner and this tool gave me everything I needed including the confidence to proceed. The oak leaf Hydrangeas are my latest success. The pic is 2 weeks in from cuttings.

Simple and concise
This book is one of the best reference books you can own. It's not one of those books that requires reading 20 pages and taking notes to learn how to propagate a plant. It's laid out very simply.FirstThere is a section about the basics of propagation and soil written very simply and to the point. No extra words.SecondThere are all of the different propagation techniques with each one only having two pages. On the pages it lays, in pictures with captions, the technique very simply. Then in a box off to the bottom it tells you the potential problems you may experience and their causes. There is another box that lists all of the plants that can be propagated by the technique. Lastly there is a little 1-2 paragraph written section telling more information about the technique should you want to learn a little more.ThirdThere is a section classifying each plant by botanical (latin) name that tells the easiest method of propagating that plant along with alternate techniques and potential problems. All of this information is presented in less than 100 words and guides you to the pages containing the propagation technique towards the beginning of the book. The most concise and simple reference book I have ever seen. I read a lot and have many reference books on different subjects. This is by far the best, even better than the for dummies books. You can go straight to the plant you want and in two pages know when and how to propagate a plant and what can go wrong.
