I don't always review products I buy on Amazon, but when I do....
...there's usually a reason for it. The reason I'm reviewing Pawbo is because instead of the typical hundreds or even thousands of reviews, this product has only 12 so far and appears to be new.The product itself has been adequately described by other reviewers, but to recap: this is a sleek, white plastic camera to watch and remotely communicate with your pet. It's somewhere between the size of an eggplant and a football. Yes, you can both HEAR and SPEAK to your pets, play laser chase with them, and dispense treats. You can take screen shots from the Pawbo and directly post to Twitter and Facebook.Overall, this is a good product, but here is how it could be better:- Ease of setup: I had difficulty with the setup. The instructions are easy and simple to follow, but the camera and the app simply wouldn't connect. I had my software engineer husband look at it and he figured out in two seconds that the issue was that our router wasn't compatible with the Pawbo. He swapped out the routers and from there the setup was easy.- treat tray:As others have mentioned, the treat tray is tiny. The tray reminds me of a cartridge, there are maybe 10-12 small slots for treats. I've found Charlee Bears are great for my two dogs and rarely jam.- speaker:Sounds echo-y. Plenty loud enough though.- image clarity:The clarity could be better but this could be affected by the connection signal and strength so it could be something out of the Pawbo's control.- sounds:The chirps and meows are cute, but it would be even better if there were more sounds to choose from.- functions:It would be nice if you could zoom in on your pets or swivel the camera to get a wider range of view but the Pawbo doesn't so this. The wide fish eye lens does provide a nice range overall though.

Pawbo is My Dog's Bestie
The media could not be loaded. I have been using this AWESOME product for about a week now and here are my thoughts.About the ProductHas a great camera (720) for watching your dog, a manual or automatic laser dot and a tiny carousel that will dispense treats with just a tap. It can make some sound effect like cat noises, birds and other things, which I love as sometime my dog goes upstairs and but barreling down the stairwell once she hears the Pawbo. It has 2 light indicators, red indicator shows that it's powered and a green indicator to let you know when it's connected to your wifi. Ability to capture video to dropbox and take pictures to your camera roll. The MOST features found in any similar product!!! 10/10Physicality of the UnitThe physical appearance of the unit is stylish, simple and sleek, only taking up a very small footprint. It comes with a 4-5 foot power cord which I feel is too short as I want to ability to move it around more. This unit DOES NOT have an on/off switch and will turn on as soon as it's plugged in. Pawbo has a removable carousel that will hold 9 treats. Overall the unit is unassumingly beautiful, compact and pleasant to look at.10/10Treats and CarouselThe treat dispenser carousel is quite small as described in so many other reviews. The SIZE of the treat didn't bother me as much as the max AMOUNT of treats it can carry. Only 9 marble sized treats will be able to be loaded at any one time. This can certainly limit the amount of time you use the machine without being home to refill it again and again. I wish that the carousel could hold 20 or more treats, but no stars taken away as this is only a wish list item. (More on Wishlist later). the carousel does feel slightly fragile when you pull it out from the machine to reload it, and could potentially tumble over as place it on a counter if the treats you put in are heavy. So I take extra care when removing and inserting the carousel.8/10 -1 point for size and amount of treats, -1 point for fragility of carousel. However functionality is top notch.Video and CameraThe Video and Camera are very good in good lighting. In low light, the camera/video is only OK to AVERAGE. Perhaps my video standards are high due to a Nest Cam I have which has AMAZING 1080p video quality in both High and LOW light. But still, the Pawbo camera is an excellent feature and certain works as advertised. The camera feature is quite good and will save directly to your camera roll. To save video you MUST have a Dropbox account (which I do) and it saves directly to your dropbox. I have saved clips to dropbox that I shared on social media and sent to my family which is awesome! However, without Dropbox, saving video is not possible at the moment. My biggest problem with the camera is the positioning of the camera inside the unit and the inability to pan and tilt. Placement of your Pawbo Unit is VERY IMPORTANT if you're interested in actually seeing your dog eat the treats it dispenses. If you set your Pawbo up 6 inches or higher off the ground, you will not be able to see your dog eat the treats because the treats dispenses straight down JUST OUT of reach of the the cameras view. I believe pan/tilt feature would be amazing for this or if you could add an extender slide to the Pawbo so the treats dispense far enough away from the machine in order to see your dog eat the treat.7/10 -1 point for short field of view, -1 for OK video quality in Low Light, -1 point for requiring a Dropbox account (not everyone uses dropbox)Laser DotThis is an AMAZING feature, if and only if, your dog will use it. Mine dog actually cares more about the laser then the treats!! You can manually move the dot your self or set it to auto. I have noticed that when it's in auto mood my dog loses sight of the dot and is less active or interested. However, if I move the laser myself, she seems WAYYY more engaged. This will vary depending on your animals inherent desire to play with the laser. 2 issues I have with the laser (PS - I have my Pawbo set up 4 inches from the ground) 1. My dog will stand right in front of the Pawbo sometimes and I get nervous that she will stare at the laser dot and hurt her eyes. 2. The laser dot turns off automatically after no movement in either manual or auto and takes about 6 seconds to turn off. This is too long for my dog. Overall the laser dot is an engaging feature and super fun feature.9/10 -1 for not having the ability to shut off laser immediatelyConnectivityThis is a big category as the big hook for this product is the ability to control it while your gone. So here are my findings. I use an iPhone 6s and have AT&T.Over your own personal Wifi - EXCELLENT! No delay, PERFECT!Over Great LTE - Great, very little delayOver Decent/Good LTE - Good quality, very little delayOver Bad LTE - Ehh, almost not even worth it, video freezes every so often but sound is OK. (I can hear my dog pouching the red dot but the video is so delayed)Over Great 4G - Very good, slight delayOver Decent/Good 4G - Pretty goodOver Bad 4G - Still pretty goodOver your friends Wifi - Very Good, barely any delayOver a free Wifi hotspot - This will depend on your connection but over I have found it good to OK7/10 -3 points for delay over average connection on LTE/4GWishlist Items for Pawbo1. Bigger tray for bigger treats2. Treat capacity should be around 15-20 treats3. Treat dispensing should kick the treat far enough away so you can see your dog eat the treat or create an extender slide that will slide the treat far enough away to watch4. Better camera in low light5. Add Pan/tilt6. Change the Power indicator color to BLUE! or the ability to chose your own color7. We need better connectivity over LTE and 4G8. I would love to change the ON sound to something different then a door bell. My dog will hear a similar door bell on the TV and run, I mean RUN over to the Pawbo with her tail wagging ready to pounce on the laser. (this is mostly funny, but sometimes I DO feel bad for her, as it's a false alarm)9. I would live to see Z-Waze included into the design to incorporate it into my Smart Home FunctionalityFinal ThoughtsThe Pawbo offers the ability to engage your dog while you're gone in a way that feels natural and fun! Even though there are some things that can be added, changed or made better I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone looking to give their dog something to do while you're away.Final RatingsPawbo Features - 10/10Physicality - 10/10Treats and Carousel - 8/10Camera and Video - 7/10Laser Dot - 9/10Connectivity - 7/10OVERALL RATING - 9/10 <-- Highly recommend
