Roosebeck Deluxe Noter and Pick for Mountain Dulcimer - Walnut

Good value for the money
I would have loved this if it was made a little longer. It’s works fine, but men have larger hands. As to my personal confronter if it was an inch to inch in a quarter to short. If made a little longer the grip would be so much better to hold.

Nice but using fingers are better for fretting.
I am just learning the Mountain Dulcimer, and use this noter occasionally. Some have said that it is not made of wood, but it definitely looks and feels like wood to me. The pick is on the small side, but I am still trying to find a pick that feels most comfortable to me. This one is nice, but I think it is a bit small for me. I am trying to use my fingers in the frets, but have not yet developed callouses. So the noter saves my finger if they start to get sore. It's OK for some songs, but you are really limited in fretting if you use more than the melody strings. I'm glad that I bought this set, but I don't think I will use it much as I get better at playing the dulcimer.

This noter is good for getting that traditional mountain sound
This noter is good for getting that traditional mountain sound...that wind whistling thru the trees. Just using your finger doesn't capture that pleasant and classic sound. Highly recommended!

lovely feel
The noter feels so lovely in my hand. I'm just learning to play the dulcimer but I feel so advanced with my beautiful carved wood noter. There was no pick with it, though. But it's OK, I still love the noter!

I'm just learning but a lot of squeaking sounds are being produced. I wrapped a paper towel around the end and it worked very well. have you, the manufacturer considered putting a felt wrap on the noter ?

Crank up the music
The noter is so smooth and warm to the touch. Beautifully crafted. The pick was just the right thickness for use with my antique dulcimer.

and made from good quality wood
As pictured, and made from good quality wood. It hasn't been used yet, as it is a Christmas present for my young dulcimer playing son. I think he will be excited to have a nice quality noter; right now he is using what is basically a small dowel rod.
