Terrano X;In-Helmet Speakers Communication System - 1 Unit Set

GREAT PRODUCT ! HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! Can't find the 2 unit on Amazon for a review so using this site for comments. My husband and I ride frequently for longer distances. We bought the 2 unit for grins as never thought it would work well but we were so pleased that we bought a single unit as well so a friend or family member could share in conversation. All advertising is true - voice transmission very clear, does not impede hearing traffic, is comfortable and light weight, makes ride safer as not turning to talk to others, and very easy to Pair IF you follow directions carefully. We will not hook up to phone or MP3 player so can not comment on that feature. Expensive BUT worth it if you ride a lot.

Great system. sounds is clear. we now ride tandem vs. side-by-side, so much safer on the rode. Also upped our safety because we rely on audio for road hazards vs. hand signals.Often, rides fly by because we start talking and lose track of time.only downsides we've found after a couple of years of riding...the units dont connect as easily as advertised, but not hard to overcome.we often ride 4+ hours at a time. in the mode we use, the battery lasts about that long. there is no way to recharge the unit while in use, now to swap batteries, so when it dies, it dies. Contacted Terrano systems and their only suggestion was to by another unit to swap out mid-ride.

I really wanted to like this device. I found it easy to install and it worked great for about 2 hours then the microphone in my headset stopped working. I contacted support and they sent me a new unit (their response was seriously delayed - more than a week). Then we did some more testing, discovered that it was the microphone that was not working. Again, contacted support (directly the engineer that I worked with previously) - i got no reply within a week, so I tried again, another week went by, then my wife openned a new support ticket and still no reply. So unfortunately after have shelled out nearly $400 for a pair of these units, I've had to return them both and look for another option.

Thing is difficult to mount. Quality is not worth the price i paid. Just an expensive walkie talkie. Good luck with it.

I have only used this product to listen to my music and take phone calls via bluetooth. For the most part, it works great, except that my left ear speaker randomly cuts in and out. My wife and I have been riding a tandem for 17 years and have tried every piece of junk for an intercom. We couldn't even make it through one season with a Tandem-com, neither the wireless or wired worked, not to mention being uncomfortable. Sena was the best we found and it was terrible. It had an around the back of the head fit, one size fits nobody. After modifying so it would have a chance of staying on my wife's head it would fall off every time we hit a bump. The headband design was probably used in 16th century England to torture people....after 30 minutes it felt like sunglasses that were too tight, did not ride well on your ear...it was just bad! After the battery failed we started looking and found the Terrano-x. It is remarkable. First, nothing touches your head. It mounts to the helmet. The sound and performance is more on the quality of systems you find for motorcycles. Even with ear warmers on, you could hear perfectly. The two units paired without a problem and paired easily with my iPhone. It uses a USB charger cord....and it holds a charge as advertised. I have never been so happy with a purchase, it has far exceeded our expectations. It is truly a professional grade product from packaging, to build quality and definitely performance. The Terrano-X site offers a double pack but it is more expensive than picking up two single units on Amazon. I'm surprised more reviews haven't been written....it was a little hard to find this searching the web, but sure worth the hunt.

I ordered them 2 weeks ago. I received ONE head set within 24 hours. The description of the product is somewhat vague . Therefore I had to order a second one . Very fast service . I installed the two headsets in less than 20 minutes. The package comes with different Velcro to set the microphone and ear piece the way best fit you and your helmet .Synchronizing was a breeze .The ear piece does not cover your ear . The microphone really, really cancels the wind sound.We were able to enjoy a 42 mile ride talking with each other in soft voice with very clear reception . The only reason I am not giving 5 is because the description of the product is not very accurate ( you have to buy 2) .

My wife and I are very impressed with these radios. They make riding our road bikes so much more enjoyable, as well as adding a layer of security and safety. We no longer have to strain to communicate with each other, which allows us to concentrate on the road. Since the ear pieces do not sit directly on the ear, we can hear everything going on around us, unlike ear buds. The volume controls are easy to access (just remember which side they're on, since the unit sits on top of the helmet). While they can link up to phones, we have not done that. Also have not tried the music feature, as that was not our main reason for purchasing them. They were easy to install on our helmets, and adjusting their positioning is a snap. They are definitely worth the investment, and we highly recommend them!

My wife and I bought these with a slight degree of trepidation given the low number of reviews on Amazon UK - but need not have worried. They are, quite simply, brilliant. You can hear each other very clearly ( both of us have some hearing difficulties) and the ability to communicate with respect to directions, traffic and just general chit chat makes travelling as two not only safer, but much more pleasant. Setting them up is no problem and battery life seems more than adequate for 5/6 hour stints on the road. The voice activated option is a little hit and miss, but this may just be us not being used to them.Yes, they are costly, but have rapidly become one of our "couldn't do without" items.

Starting with the negative: if you look on YouTube it is easy to put together ( we were pairing two devices) in our experience it is not easy to get the bits to click together and it took us 3 or 4 attempts to pair them even although we were doing the correct procedure. Now the positives: once working they worked great for us did exactly as we wanted it to do. The wind noise was not a problem we could hear and communicate together easily - 4 stars because of the hassle of putting them together and because the man on YouTube made it look easy.

Bought this piece of kit this Christmas for me and the Mrs who does not like to ride two abreast. Had two bike rides so far and it is brilliant. Range is good. And voices really clear even when it was very windy. Thoroughly recommend Terrano. Your ears are not covered up so you can hear other cyclists in your party which is great. It's expensive but made purely for cyclists, I can't see how you would adapt a motorcycling kit that easy.

This just has to be the best bit of kit since my wife got an e-bike. No more being shouted at we can ride and chat with ease. Totally recommend this product. Read other people's 5* reviews here for more details, I would only be typing the same.

fabulous bit of tech. we used this on a trip from south to north Ireland (mismal) and found it fabulous for communicating with each other without the need for shouting especially on busy roads.
