Clear2oDIRTGUARD™ SEDIMENT PRE-FILTER CPF1000 - RV Water Filter - 10 Micron

This pre filter is awesome! With no impact to water pressure or flow, it'll keep all the sediment out of your water lines and camper, plus your taste improvement filter will last a lot longer! Every time we tear down, I back flush it per the instructions and disassemble for travel. I'm always surprised how much dirt and junk this thing has collected! BUY IT!

We purchased both the the CLEAR2O® DirtGuard™ Sediment Pre-Filter CPF1000 and the CLEAR2O RV & Marine Inline Water Filter CRV2006 to be used where we have rust and a sulfur odor. The installation of the DirtGuard™ Sediment Pre-Filter was a breeze. The package came with all the necessary components and clear instructions, making the setup quick and hassle-free. Within minutes, I had the filter securely connected to my RV's water inlet, and it was ready to go!The filtration capabilities of this system are very good. It effectively traps rust and reduced the sulfur smell but it did not eliminate it. I am certain it will take care of all the other particles that may be present from the water source that you do not want in your RV lines. I really like the fact the pre filter can be back washed to extend it’s life. Back wash is easy.We did not drink the water and I cannot say that I would. I prefer bottled water over RV water. Just a thing.The durability and sturdiness of the DirtGuard™ Sediment Pre-Filter are also worth mentioning. It's designed to withstand the rigors of RV travel, and I can confidently say that it's built to last. I am sold on this filter system and will continue to use CLEAR20 products.

I did a lot of research on water filter systems. I ordered this and the Clear2O 1 micron inline filter. I then put a water softener on as well and decided to check the filter just to see if it needed cleaned. I was totally surprised by how much stuff that this trapped. I like that you can back flush this to clean out the filter. Definitely recommend that all RVers use it.

Using this at our RV base camp on the supply spigot that feeds RV on pad that has a 3 step water filtration system in place in the wet bay. Camp well has lots of sediment which this captures since we were rapidly clogging our expensive to change out onboard safety filter (0.02 micron). Also useful to pre-filter water that feeds a power washer that performs camp duties. Excellent concept with the ability to twist in an inline additional filter (we don't. we use a flex coupler to garden hose). The back flush adaptor/ability is a bonus too. If they improve their plastic formulation, this would be the perfect solution for a lot of needs.

Our recreational property has a new well. We suspected tannins or iron as the water was tinted. Saw this filter at Walmart and decided to give it a try. If you follow the instructions it will do the job. Just don’t expect it to replace a $1000.00 whole house water filter system.

Works as intended.

I've bought two in 14 months. Constant use (daily).The first one lasted 8-9 months. Second didn't last as long. The lid has cracked and broken completely both times and it wasn't from freezing (it's 60's at night right now) and I have a 40-50 psi regulator installed. It worked great as a pre filter (hence 3 stars) for as long as they lasted but I think for $45 it should hold up for a year minimum, or at least offer replacement lids for sale.

this filter adds a great layer of protection for your rv water coming in,, It does not replace the regular filter just adds to it. It does have to be air dried after each use to prevent bacteria and mold.
