The tastiest product for those with Peanut Butter allergies
Sunbutter tastes as good as genuine peanut better, except that it's made from sunflower seeds. This product comes from the USA but the cost through Amazon UK is reasonable and I highly recommend it to any parent whose children have been denied pb because of existing allergy conditions. We buy a case of six at a time and we're good to go for two months at a time. Buy it, you'll love it!

Amazing stuff
Highly allergic to nuts and this little beauty enables me to have "peanut butter" on toast. HEAVEN. I cant get enough!

This is a great product at a great price, if you are looking for a replacement for peanut butter. I first purchased this at a health food store and paid well over the $6.99 price offered by Amazon. When I first opened it, I found some settling of oil on the top, and I found that if you don't mix it before use you will end up with a small dry mass at the bottom when the product is consumed. However, it isn't the tedious messy mixing required with natural peanut butter, and I found that my second jar remained mixed. SunButter is a little creamier than peanut butter, and a little bit "runnier". I don't know how it would fare as a substitute in peanut butter cookies, for example. As far as the taste, I would recommend that you think "sunflower seeds" when you take your first bite. For the most part it tastes like peanut butter, but the sunflower seed aftertaste might be off-putting if you aren't expecting it. Otherwise, it is a very pleasant mouthful. My doctor has me on a weight loss program, and one of the steps was introducing peanut butter. SunButter has 16g of fat, 4 gms of sugar and 7 gms of carbohydrates as does peanut butter, but slightly less salt. Sliced apples and SunButter is my go-to snack. There is always a couple of tablespoons of SunButter in a single-serve Rubbermaid container in my lunch box when I go to work. As a school nurse with multiple students who have allergies to peanut butter, I would recommend this as a safe alternative. I gave a sample to a co-worker whose daughter is highly allergic to peanut butter, and it was a hit with every member of her family.

Actually better than peanut butter. While I don't have peanut or tree-nut allergies, this is a great alternative for people who do. I just like it. This seems to be the most affordable brand, though I've switched to their crunchy version ("Natural Crunch"). There is actually another brand in the same price range that (like this one) is carried by Trader Joe's, which has less sugar. But this brand is still less sugary than most peanut butter brands (other than the overly expensive health-food stuff). It has a fantastic roasty taste, and is more like proper food than candy; it's maybe better compared to almond butter than typical peanut butter. I like it best on Dave's Killer PowerSeed Bread (which is pricey, but really good). Haven't been able to get that lately, so have been enjoying this on whatever is actually available from Amazon Fresh and isn't crappy. It's fun to have this on one slice, and almond butter on another, and peanut butter on another, for variety. If you're in a chocolate mood, this also mixes well with a bit of Nutella or similar (Middle Eastern markets have a cheaper alternative brand named Torku, which also comes in dark choco version). I actually prefer that with almond butter, though. I can't say whether it goes well with jelly/jam; I've never (even as a child) like PB&J sandwiches, so it's not the sort of thing I would test. I have started wondering how well this would do as a PB replacement in some dinner dishes that call for peanut, like spicy Thai peanut sauce for chicken, and some African groundnut recipes. I bet a sunflower version would be great. PS: If you like crunchy but it's sold out, you can just mix in some roasted, shelled sunflower seeds, which is what I was doing before I found that Sun Butter now has a crunchy version.

i’m one of the few who go into anaphylactic shock when peanuts and tree nuts are introduced into the environment around me, so prepare for a long review. for the majority of my life, i’ve not been able to enjoy peanut butter anything. after a year of my allergy diagnosis, i forgot what it tasted like and watched everyone else enjoy everything peanut butter. then, all the many years later, i discovered this - sunflower butter - and wow. i think i’ve eaten a “pb”&j almost every day since i first purchased. also tastes so, so amazing with apples and chocolate. separate, not together. maybe i should try it together? (like…i’ve been missing so much?!) the smell was off putting at first and made me unsure to try but i did a little at a time and got used to the smell and (wonderful) taste. my throat was slightly itchy for the first few bites but eventually went away. didn’t incite a further or stronger reaction in me in any way. unless you count the pure joy and excitement when i realised i could eat something in similar texture and taste as peanut butter. i keep it in the fridge and it’s oh so creamy and thick. sometimes oils do settle on top, but a quick swirl will make it good to go. super easy to spread! if you have peanut or tree nut allergies, i recommend speaking with your doctor before trying. mine said i could try since it had been so long but to be very cautious just in case. i just kept my epipen near by, introduced it gradually, and now i’m eating it happily almost every day. to the people who developed and made this product, thank you so, so, so much! i never thought i could enjoy such simple things but this has proved me wrong! will forever be purchasing. absolutely love.
