This is well worth a listen
Glad to have re-bought this after many years. A classic album, under-appreciated in its day

Jesus Saves!... But Bob Puts Away The Rebound
This album has certainly took it's time arriving with me. This has nothing to do with delivery just that I always thought Dylan plus religion was a joke. Especially after 'Street Legal' I just always thought that this collection of songs would be second or 3rd rate Bob with the religious aspect trying to attract the curious. However, after reading a recent article about its re-issue I decided to give it a go.This is Dylan on a religious kick and packing a lot of soul. As always the often abstract lyrics are open to interpretation but are as with BD always interesting. However, Dylan has got a great bunch of musicians backing him on these tracks and they give Bobs message some stroll on baby brother funk. From the first track, the brilliant 'Gotta Serve Somebody' I realised I had been wrong to ignore this LP. The track gets you moving like no other Dylan song ever has. Dylan even manages to sound sexy. Well, as sexy as a man with Dylan's voice ever could. 'Gotta Serve Somebody' points the way and the rest of the album follows with brilliant music and an exceptional good gospel backing.I shouldn't have waiting 40 years to listen to this album. It could turn out that I think it one of Dylan's best.
