How far from the unit can you sit and still feel the heat? In other words, how low should it be installed for someone sitting down?

I have my unit installed 12ft high in my horse barn. I can lie down on the floor and feel the warmth. The unit comes with recommended installation instruction. I would follow those guidelines. I love, love, love my unit!!!!
