Modification may be needed.
Website gets an A+ for verifying you're getting the right model and having everything needed for installation. My situation required use of a wiring harness adapter included in the package.Modification requiring a WIRE SPLICE may be needed. The arm that operates the ice ejector was different on the replacement. I had to cut the wires and splice to connect the new one. The items needed to do this were included and is simple enough if you've done this before.

Fixed my no-ice problem
If your refrigerator is approaching 10 years of age, and you're starting to hear more noises than usual, plus you're not getting much ice (or any ice at all), this was a perfect replacement for my Kitchen Aid side-by-side. Installation is a bit of a pain, but if you're handy, it's very doable. Check out the many YouTube videos for how-to replace the unit. All the parts I needed were included with the ice maker. My fridge is now happily delivering ice quickly and silently. Glad I made the purchase.

Whirlpool ice maker is back up and running !
When the ice maker stopped working, I hoped that it was just this one component that failed. It was a fairly easy installation, just had to cut one wire and use the supplied connector and shrink tubing to complete the wiring. Once replaced, my wife advised me the next morning that ice was available.YouTube and web searches can be VERY helpful to narrow down problems with appliance issues 👍

Need customer support
We bought and installed this ice maker in November 2022 and all worked great until yesterday and it quit working. Wife tried to contact for support because it says 1 year warranty and can’t get through to anyone. Not sure I want to order again if the seller is putting out false information.

Happy to have a working icemaker again
Our icemaker quit a few days ago after 8 years, so I figured it was time for a new one. Almost called for service, but didn't want to spend $300-$400 for it, so decided I'd try replacing it myself. Ordered this icemaker unit after reading the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and the price was more than reasonable. Installed it over the weekend, and although I wouldn't say it was exactly simple, it was certainly something a DIY'er can do. My only issue is that the directions that came with it were somewhat lacking, so I found a video on YouTube for my exact refrigerator model and followed that. Even with the video, I missed one important connection. When it still wasn't making ice after 24 hours, I pulled it out again and that's when I noticed the incorrect connection of some wires. After correcting my error, I put it all back in, and this morning my ice bin is already over half full. Definitely pleased that I opted for this icemaker. It looks like it made of durable materials and seems well constructed. Time will tell how long it lasts, but I'm optimistic it will end up being a good investment.

I finally have ICE!!!
My grandchidren wouldn't leave quit getting ice when they lived with me, with their mother. When they lived here the ice maker would not, COULD NOT, keep up with the demands of their constant abuse on it. I had to buy a countertop icemaker that took up too much room. That thing died in 9 months and caused me to have to go through customer support to get a new one. They went so far as to have me take a picture of the cable, me cutting the cable, and the icemaker w/o the cable. WOW!!! I didn't realize how easy it would be to replace this thing in my refrigerator. I watched videos online and found it to be relatively simple. Thank you Bing! (haha). The biggest 'pain' was I had to cut one of the cables to attach it to this new icemaker. The kit comes with a cable connector that you crimp, and a heat shrink to put around it. (Gotta make sure the heat shrink is on before crimping the connector).

Installed mid December and failed on June 29
Original ice maker failed and I was able to fix it with a replacement thermo-sensor. Lasted 8 more years then failed. This replacement lasted a few days over 6 months and failed beyond repair.Might not be the fault of the replacement part this ice maker is bad in several fridges. I would expect more than 6 months and a few days out of it though.

Dead on arrival....
I am an electrician and instalation was very easy with some minor wire splicing...Now for a bad part:New unit doesn't send signal to ice maker shutoff valve to provide ice maker tray with water. After forcing the cycle (harvesting) by jumping T and H and holding door switch in OFF position, I should have 120VAC signal on ice maker water suply shutoff valve conector for last 7 seconds of the cycle....meaning: water valve should open and suply ice maker tray with water. I never got reading on my multimeter 120VAC signal which tells me I got DOA (Dead On Arrival) unit. By jumping L and V (water shutoff valve) on ice maker I got water filling up ice tray which tells me that water shutoff valve is OK.Will try to contact Amazon and see if they will send me replacement... Will keep posting any changes and review accordingly....UPDATE 15/11/22Ordered item EAP11769140 from different supplier... installed and ice maker makes ice flawlessly....

You may get a Dud !
It makes ice, at times. The original arm would not reset when ice was needed. I removed my old one and added that. It now works better but sometimes you have to manually trigger the arm to the make ice position. After paying $170 + it shouldn't do that.
