Haunting Charlie: Witches of Palmetto Point Book 1

I liked this book, read it way to quickly and had a few moments where i was sad, scared and laughing. Great book and cant wait to red the others. Thank you to the author for a great story and a fun ride.

I like ghost stories so when this series came up on chirp audio for $6.99, I got it. Haunting Charlie is a really short book(4.5 hours or about 250 pages), but it’s a good supernatural mystery. 100% worth the money to purchase it. The story does involve an evil ghost that raped and murders women and a suicide attempt is mentioned so those could be trigger warnings for someone. The book jumps pretty quick into the plot, but there is enough character background to connect with the characters and like the characters. I liked the spark of romance in the book but they only mentioned how hot the deputy was a couple time and being hot wasn’t his only character trait so that was good. There are some times when the ghosts and magic are pretty conveniently placed so the plot moves along without too much character struggle or depth to the plot, but it’s still a fun book. I had read a pretty intense book so it was what I needed. The narrator was decent. I think I might have almost liked it better as a digital book though since it was so short. I’ll definitely read the rest of the series.

I bought the first book imaging it it would be a quick, and easy summer read, BUT..then I couldn't put them down. Each character, each books becomes more someone you know in this small southern town, where it's really true, "Well, Bless your heart" really is a dig among some of the towns women, lol and they know it. Family truly is loyal here, and so is Charlie's family. I love her aunt Evangeline and wish to read more about her in the series.. The main characters are well developed as the series progresses.. I loved the stories and the continuing series it has become addicting to me. It's like a roller coaster ride. You get on, you're climb to the top and you think you know what's coming, but it's scarier than you think. The read is great, but no nightmares. I'm surprised that I loved these as much as I do and I absolutely would recommend them to women. My only wish is that the author wouldn't simply just end them with a too sudden "BANG," and it's over and the next day..No settling down. The feeling I was left with was, "What happened? The wrap up was so fast on the last page and that's something that keeps happening in the series, but it doesn't "settle" in the next book. (that's my only negative comment, but that may be the author's style??) I need a little more closure with what happened to the other people in the closure. I expected, character wise, for people to finish off where they left off, and other characters seem to get lost suddenly. The endings are only saved by the next books in the series, and they do get better, but Wang needs to polish up the endings with more clarity and not just "Bang it's over, and it's next day"..as if nothing happened at all. Life doesn't work like that not even in the supernatural world. Still worth reading every one so far..Same people, different adventures, but even TV series need ending for the day or week a little better on the closure..

I was excited when I discovered this book and saw that it’s a series with the same main characters throughout. IMO, the story was really uninspired and the mystery was easy to figure out. Also, with a title like that I expected this to be a spooky or scary read. There are ghosts but every ghost was on the funny side not scary at all. And I didn’t care one way or the other about any of the characters. However, I love the setting and the family unit coming to each other’s aid when needed.This was my first book by this author and I might still give her other books a try in the future.

It was a easy read, and helped me get started and interested back into reading. I enjoyed the storyline and was interested in reading more.

This was a fabulously interesting book. I've always been a fan of paranormal works, and this one had me hooked from the first couple of chapters. Haunting Charlie serves as an introduction to Charlie Payne (psychic extraordinaire). It gives you little nudges that she isn't the only blessed member in her family but doesn't go into detail on Charlie's cousins yet. I guess we have plenty of time for their stories in the next 13 books. I better clear my calendar. Lol

I was going through a bit of a read slump, and I came across this book, and I really enjoyed it. The main characters are all likable, you’re rooting for them to win, and I hope this is part of a series, and not just a one off. Charlie is very likable. And her family is just so adorable – I want to be part of her family. I love this, and I think you’ll enjoy it too. I highly recommend it!

Urban fantasy and paranormal suspense story well worth reading..I have just finished reading the first novel and just purchased the 2nd if it wasn’t for Christmas woes and bills I would buy the series from what I have read this far excellent writer and great story

Charlie can communicate with the dead. When her cousin recommends she help with a clients ghost problem at an old property with a gruesome past, she unknowingly stumbles upon unsolved missing girl cases.Slow start getting into it but overall enjoyable read. Paranormal mystery/mild thriller, short read completed over a few hours.

Tis my first Wendy Wang book. I loved it for its slightly quirky humorous bits balanced with the seriousness of the Spiritual world.

The only reason for 4 stars is the lack of editing, otherwise, I was thrilled to join Charlie as she found both her courage and her calling in this superb paranormal mystery. A great kick off to a new series.

A good read. If the rest of the series keeps to similar momentum, it will be interesting to see the development. I'm hoping it doesn't run out of steam or spirits.
