Headgear for my son
Bought these for my sons first year of wrestling. Once adjusted he found them very comfortable. When wrestling with them he said “I can’t hear very well” but that’s to be expected with all head gear. He also said “they feel good to wrestle in and my ears don’t hurt after practice”. Thanks for the good deal on these headgear!

Wearing these was like wrestling in air conditioning
I had the opportunity to beta test the F5 headgear 15 years ago (can't believe it has been that long) as a high school wrestler at a camp at the University of Michigan. I was used to the Cliff Keen classic headgear, padding over steel ear cups. Wearing these was like wrestling in air conditioning, they were extremely comfortable with the added ability of being able to hear your surroundings completely. For youth wrestlers you can not go wrong with these headgear. The biggest challenge with kids and wrestling is that they do not want to wear headgear in practice, it's hot, uncomfortable, and if you aren't used to wearing headgear you will want to take them off once you start to sweat, subjecting kids to cauliflower ear. The tornado headgear will solve that, kids who aren't used to wearing them will be much more comfortable in these than traditional headgear. They are a bit pricier than other headgear, they are 100% worth it though, no sewn parts to fray, comfortable, durable padding, strong velcro straps for easy adjustment, simply the best on the market.

Great Upgrade
I wasn't pumped about the 40$ price tag, but after receiving and my son using it for over 30 matches, this head held up and performed well. Hearing is no issue. Color combinations are great too

Pequeño para mi hijo de 11 años
Supongo que es para niños más pequeños. En mi hijo de 11 años no funciono

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. My son is 8 years old and 67.5 lbs and this headgear fits him perfectly (it is easily adjustable). The plastic over the ears allows for breathability and bc of that my son does not complain when wearing it. He has worn this in at least 25 matches and has yet to adjust it during a match (he wrestles on an 'intermediate' level so lots of head pulling lol). I've seen many many kids lose their headgear in the middle of a match! My son has a minor hearing impairment and thanks to the placement/holes in the headgear he can finally hear his coach during a match. He struggled significantly with his last pair (b/c of the padding on the ears) and he could not hear his coach in the loud gym. To me, this is the best part. Do not be deterred at the plastic design! Not only does it protect great, but it is also very difficult for opponents to grab/pull behind the ears/back of the head. All in all - Pay the couple extra $$ and GET THIS!!

Great once sized correctly
This was my son's first year wrestling, so he only had 10-15 matches total. This headgear set worked really well for him after we got it sized correctly. We had some difficulty getting all the straps properly sized to my son's head, but once that was done, it fit well and provided great ear protection while still allowing my son to hear well.Pros: good padding, comfortable, fits securely, allows child to hear (doesn't muffle sound like other headgear)Cons: Multiple straps take a long time to fit correctly, chin strap is cheap foam and probably won't last more than a season.I definitely recommend this headgear set with the understanding it will take some time time and readjustment to get it to fit correctly.

Worked well, but barely fit my 9 year old.
The product itself is built well and worked well for my son this wrestling season. After reading some other reviews I thought these would fit him for a while, but his coach said he was lucky to get through the year with them. A couple of the straps were barely holding on. I wouldn't say my son is overly large for a 9 year old, he's 65 lbs, but thought I'd let people know that these maybe better for younger kids.
