Stargate SG-1: The Complete Series

I purchased the DVD box set of SG-1 many years ago. This BR set remasters all seasons and the first few years benefit most in this regard. The conversion from 4:3 crops the frame a bit as one would expect, but the effect is barely noticeable and it simply looks better on now common high aspect ratio displays.

My favorite program of all time, along with Star Trek.

The picture quality is better than what is available on streaming right now. The sound is dolby surround on the second track as it should be, in the late 90s that was the standard format for TV, anyone expecting 5.1 here is just expecting too much. For international customers: the bluray set is region free ABC, so buy and enjoy it. It is the best way to experience the series again after so many years.

I love this series and I am so excited to own it. Highly recommend to anyone who loves science fiction and military! My kiddo is even getting into the series!

The dvd set is perfect

Watched the bluray on a 4k player and compared the first episode to streaming on prime. Much improved visually. Wider view and not necessarily zoomed in, it shows much more of the show on the sides, filling the screen. So it it is more immersive. Cleaner picture quality. May have lost a little bit of fine detail but I find it much more pleasant to watch. I had been wanting to rewatch and last time I suffered through the streaming version online but waited until I recieved this copy and glad I did. It may not be HD or 4k but a vast improvement over the streaming version on Prime and I find it very very worth it to have the blurays. As for sound through my receiver and sub/5 speakers...about the same. Just need to pick 5.1 when starting disk.

DVD Sound quality is way better than streaming on Amazon prime video . Got this Stargate sg1 box set today and noticed the first season has some episodes out of order compared to what the internet air dates are. Other seasons look correct and in order. Irritating…

I have not written many reviews but felt like product deserved one. I received it pristine, nothing missing or out of place. There was one disc Season 6 disc 4 that the title screen was graphically glitched however that did not effect the episodes. I checked all discs and everything else was in order. I am very excited to start watching all of them. Thanks for the awesome product!
