This is our second Victoria grill pan that we just purchased from Amazon, and we got this one for our rv. When it got here this week it had some rust on it, nothing to be concerned about, and we took care of it immediately by washing and seasoning it. The photo shows what it looks like after my wife cooked chicken breast in it last night and cleaned it again. The first one we bought back in the mid 2000's looks just as good as this new one. and still looks that good because of taking care of it. I've read all the negative reviews about it having rust on it when people received it. These people must not know anything about cast iron, how to season and protect it. Wash it and season it and the rust goes away. No need to slam Victoria or any other brand because it wasn't picture perfect when you received it. I've also read the negative reviews about it being heavy. It's cast iron not metal or stainless. The heavier a cast iron pan is the better it's going to retain heat, hold seasoning better, and cook better. My suggest is, if you don't like heavy pans then don't use cast iron. This Victoria grill pan is actually lighter than some of the others on the market. We have many pieces of cast iron cookware and use it on a regular basis. My wife likes the Victoria brand more than any other brand. She has a 12 inch and two 10 inch Victoria cast iron skillets and now two grill pans. They're deeper, easier to season, and she says easier to handle. Another thing about cast iron cookware, it may or may not sit flat on a smooth and flat cook top. If that bothers you then buy pans that are made to sit flat on those style cook tops. Anything can arrive cracked or broken. 99% of the time it's the shipper not the maker that caused the crack, so no need to blast the maker with a negative review if you receive one cracked. I personally think for the money, excellent cooking results and ease of maintenance, you can't go wrong with this grill pan or any other Victoria cast iron cookware.

Outside of the handle was sticking out at the package when it was delivered maybe got Josh around cause it was very loosen. I didn’t have any packaging to keep it secure. I find this to be an outstanding pan! I use it for broiling and it’s just fantastic. Preheating it and it sear the meat beautifully and it’s easy to clean off. For the price, you just can’t beat it.

You dont need a grill with this. If you only have few people to feed there is absolutely no need for a outdoor grill. Let's face it outdoor grills rot out and can be very expensive even they rot out and have problems. What I do is use a portable gas hob on a table hook it up to propane, Bhutan and yes even a 20lb or greater cylinder. Heat the cast iron to the smoking point outdoors use tongs and white with grapeseed oil let it smoke this is the secret to a good seasoning dont rely on the factory seasoning. Let it cool do this atleast 5 times and you will have a super pan to work with. Thin coats of oil only otherwise cast iron gets gummy. Next when making a steak again outdoors heat up the pan on the hob brush some oil on it I have gotten mine to 750 degrees place your step 2 minutes later flip it this will give you medium rare to perfection a bit longer for different outcomes. Cast Iron excellent at super hot which is what is needed for grilling. I have never seen a gas grill this hot nor cook this well. Cleaning is a breeze hot water with or without soap chain mail and a brush are all you need, afterward dry with towel and put on the stove for a bit to evaporate remaining water, lightly coat with grapeseed oil and rack it for the next adventure when cool.

After seasoning with oil 5 times & after washing in warm sudsy water and pre heating the pan. It's no stick. Great pan. Great value. Live in an apartment and can't grill outdoors. With some liquid smoke, oil and time tastes and looks just like a traditional grill. The pan gas excellent heat distribution and retention. Love the traditional black color. Had a great fourth. This pan saved my Fourth and was way less expensive than other options.

Love that it was delivered the very next day of ordering. No seasoning required as advised by many. Just used it immediately after washing and the steaks turned out perfect! A true cast iron pan!

Only takes about four or five minutes to pre-heat it on the stove, and about two and a half minutes on either side for the steak (assuming you've taken the steak out of the fridge for about twenty minutes to get it to room temperature). Bit of a pain to get the stuck-on bits off, but that's just because I'm trying to be gentle with it compared to how I wildly scrub my other, cheap pans. But it's easy to use and not that big of a deal - it's just a different way of cleaning it than I'm used to. :)
