Worked GREAT for my dog's neuter recovery!
My dog was recently neutered and did not want that hard plastic cone! I purchased this same one for another dog that was neutered 3 years ago and it worked perfectly! The idea is that the dog should have a shorter snout and the donut must be sized correctly. I think it might not work if you order one too small or your dog has a long snout, like a German Shepherd. My dog has a 13" neck so I ordered the medium and it fits exactly as it should! He can't reach his stitches if you keep it inflated correctly. I ordered a second one so I can have it if this one happens to start leaking or I need to wash it. I put my dog's existing collar through the loops inside so I can hook the leash easily to it for walks! It doesn't matter which side faces out so I keep the back side out so I can add air to the valve if needed without removing it. I took it off to do an adjustment to the collar and my dog fought me when I tried to put it back on him! My first one started to deflate after about a week. I think it might have been from the valve not seating really well. I did add a little spit to the inside of the valve to help it seal even better. This might keep the air up for the 14 days of recovery. My dog rubs against the bushes outside and it holds up fine, but I have to keep him from going near the rose bushes that will definitely puncture it. I don't let my other dog roughhouse during the recovery time because that could also puncture it. A spare donut is cheap insurance! I would definitely give it a try if you are like most people that have bad experiences with those Cones of Shame!!UPDATE! I inflated the second donut to allow me to wash the first one. Because the Bladder inside was cold it would not fully expand to full size. I took it out of the cloth shell and put it in a sink with warm water to allow it to expand more! I inflated it and it did stretch larger. I dried it and deflated it to insert into the shell. The inflation nozzle will PUSH IN but it is stiff! After reinflating it again it did reach a FULL TIGHT SIZE! I think this is why my first donut did prevent my dog from reaching his stitches!

It's a portable pillow
We have a dog with allergies who is prone to licking hotspots. This has helped to combat that issue, and the dog absolutely LOVES it. As far as he's concerned, it's a portable pillow. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that we have already needed to buy a second one, as the first one got a hole in it. I'm sure the hole was caused by our dog trying to scratch his neck, but his nails aren't sharp and they had to go through the outer fabric as well, which leads me to believe the inner ring is a thinner, lower quality plastic to have popped so easily.

Size matters
Bought this for my female puppy’s recent spay surgery. The product seems to work well, unfortunately I bought the wrong size even after measuring. Return window was closed so I lost out on my money.

Cute but didn’t last
I bought these back for my pup when he had to have stitches in his paw and it was great until his sister ripped it off and then bit right through it. So needless to say it didn’t last long and you have to be mindful of another sibling dog ripping it off but I thought the donut was cute.

Better than cone, but consider dog size
This is so much lighter than a traditional cone or e-collar. The one the vet provided was so big and heavy, my dog couldn't hold her head up while she was wearing it. My dog has been wearing this for four days and hasn't seemed bothered by it at all. She is a medium sized dog and can still reach to lick her nether regions, but she can't reach her spay incision. For a medium male dog and bigger breeds, this might not be big enough to keep them from licking their business.

Not a great fit for breeds with short legs.
Bought for my 26lb Corgi to recover from neutering. The tube is so thick that it props his head up when laying down and nearly drags on the ground when walking. Most of his day is unencumbered, but sleep in particular looks significantly more uncomfortable than it would with a cone.I would strongly recommend against this as your only recovery tool if you have a short-legged breed like a Corgi, Dachsund, Vallhund, Basset Hound, etc. A recovery suit is likely a better fit for sleep and a handy backup to have anyways.

Inflatable collar
This collar did the job, but only under supervision. My dog was still able to reach his belly incision, he ended up having to wear a surgical suit, and this collar. But it did make a wondeful comfy sleeping pillow for him too. But once he was done with it he did destroy it possibly in protest. Lol.

Not secure on dog
Our dog was able to slip right out of this- I feel like these run a little on the big side? I do like that u can inflate to a comfortable level for ur pet- but our sneaky dog was able to slip right out of this one - so maybe keep a close eye on ur pet at first use. I can see where this softer material would provide a much more comfortable place to rest head on instead of the traditional hard cone of shame - but just wasn’t able to keep on our dog.

Much better than a plastic cone
Our dog got surgery this fall and needed to keep away from her stitches in multiple places. She came home from the vet with a plastic cone which she was afraid of and made loud sounds when she bumped into things. This pillow was soft for her and kept her away from her stitches. She seemed to like resting her head and sleeping on it like a travel pillow. If your dog is good at escaping they may be able to slip out of this, but for us it worked great and was much better than the cone.

No sirvio a mi perrito

Comfortable and cute
Got this after dog's neuter surgery. He likes it much more than the cone and seems more comfortable in it. It's easier for him to look around, eat and drink. He gets a lot of attention on walks (which he loves) because he looks too adorable.

Perfect for after spay
Got this for after my puppy got spayed. She kept it on for her 2 weeks with no problems. Seemed very comfortable with it on and kept the stitches safe!
