I received the unit today and tested it out. (Just as impression as the smaller Tontec, yet bigger.) Here is what I would like to put as my review. Please let me know if you feel anything needs to be changed or removed before I post to Amazon. (Note - I will also be adding 5 pictures to my review. One of what comes with the unit, one of the device back, one of the device side, one of the monitor being used as a pc screen and one of it being used as a camera display.Just received my new 8” Tontec Monitor and could not be happier. This monitor came well packaged and comes with everything you need to get up and running. Most monitors leave you short handed for either a power cable, remote or an hdmi cable. This comes with all of those as well as a portable stand which is very flexible.Starting with the stand, the stand can swivel both left to right as well as up and down. The base has four mounting holes which means you can use small screws to mount this should you want to. They also include a pad-sticker for underneath in case you do not want to permanently mount and just stick the mount to a smooth flat surface. The bottom of the monitor also has a camera size mount so if you wanted to, you could use a camera tripod to hold your monitor up or how you like. Would work with both the full size tripods or the small desk type ones.As far as the cords and power supply, not much to go over. They do exactly as you would think. I do like the blue led light on the power cord as a feature though. Forbid the thought there would ever be a problem, the light will tell me if the power cord went back or if I need to trouble shoot the monitor.Pros-This monitor has a ton of different ways you can use it as it has numerous inputs such as VGA, HDMI and VGA.-The vga and HDMI inputs allow the unit to serve as a PC monitor. You can use this for the Raspberry pi or even a full normal pc with HDMI or VGA output. I have found it useful as a stand alone extra monitor for my pc as follows.a.) I stream audio a lot and just maximize the audio player on it.b.) I have an ip camera and can maximize the display to give me a 24/7 view of it without it taking over my main screens.c.) You can use it to show PC gadgets which may be used to monitor cpu use, memory, heat, etc.-This can be used in a car as a backup camera monitor, lcd for car dvd players – game systems or even can double as an lcd for a portable laptop. (Use an hdmi cable and set displays to duplicate on laptop. This way when you play a movie or do anything, another person can see what you are doing.)-This can be used for a camcorder display viewing screen or a display if you want to connect your DSL Camera to it for a large preview screen.-Unit is very light and looks sharp.Cons-Since it can be used a lot of different ways in a car, a DC power cord would be nice. (Not a big deal as they are not expensive.)-Does not come with a carry case.-Wish the av input cord on the bottom of the monitor came out the rear vs. bottom. This way you do not see it. Not a big deal. It is very flexible and you can simply tuck this behind the unit to hide it.Overall you will not beat the price for a monitor that has this many options , comes with this many features and can do as much as this can. I highly recommend this unit. Do not be fooled by those other brands as you are missing out on the extra ports. Most of the other brands lack either hdmi, vga port or give you only an analog video in.This was received free in exchange for my unbiased honest review.
