Koren Talmud Bavli Noe Color Edition, Vol. 6: Pesahim, Part 1 (Hebrew and English Edition)

Volumes 1-6
I have received volumes one through six, and am waiting for volume seven. The Talmud is not something that one can rate in terms of content. It is what it is. It is also the living history and the legal basis for the civilization of the Jewish people. What is so wonderful about these volumes and the volumes to come, is that it makes the Talmud accessible for people, like myself, whose knowledge of Hebrew is not sufficient to embrace the Talmud and all it contains. Rabbi Steinsaltz has translated the Talmud into English, with just enough Hebrew, to be able to begin to appreciate our living law and all that it means. As a retired judge, I have spent my life reading "the law," but had no way to read the law of my own people. This gem has enabled me to do just that. If I can read and understand one to three pages a week, I shall count myself as doing well. Thank you Rabbi Steinsaltz for allowing me to study, and hopefully, understand, the living law of my own people. Can someone explain the Rabbi's having taken the name of "Even-Israel."?

Great “learning” Talmud for a beginner
Love what Rabbi Steinsaltz z’l’ spent his life doing—making Talmud accessible. Still not easy but a great tool

Such a blessing!
Without the Koren Steinsaltz Talmid Bavli, I probably never would have embarked upon the Daf Yomi cycle for the first time last year. When I think of how I, a Baal teshuva, have completed three tractates thus far and am working my way through my fourth, I can't find the words to express my gratitude. The notes, diagrams, and voweled text make Talmud accessible to people like me who never dreamed they'd be studying Gemara on a regular basis. I have studied Daf Yomi with fellow Baal teshuvas, folks who grew up religious, and secular Jews alike, and all have found enormous value in this edition. I am so very grateful to all who made the translation of Steinsaltz' work from Hebrew to English possible. I look forward to six years from now when I can say, "Thanks to the Koren Steinsaltz Talmud, I just finished my first Daf Yomi cycle." -and then I look forward to starting over again!

a great work of both scholarship
This is another volume in the superb Koren edition of the Babylonian Talmud, a great work of both scholarship, interpretation, and graphic design. The reader and student can turn to any page and find subjects of great interest and images of delight.

Amazing
As was the case for the previous volumes, the explanation, notes, background, and halacha were clear and concise, elucidating the text and its ramifications in the most informative, interesting, precise, and illuminating manner.
