One Village Coffee Single Origin Sample Box, 6 oz Honduras, 6 oz Ethiopia, 6 oz Sumatra, Whole Bean, Light and Medium Roasts, Compostable Bag

I know I LOVE Sumatra; Strong & Bold; and the 6oz Bag in this Trio Sample Pack looked like quality Beans from Indonesia. I didn't know if I like Ethiopia &/or Honduras Coffees; I decided to give them a Try. And Try I did. The Sumatra was Superb; GONE in 5 Days. It is very smoothe; and definitely can taste the sweet undertones of Chocolate & Raisins that are accented in the Bean Roasting Process.Unfortunately, The Ethiopian & Honduras had almost NO Taste to My Palate; even when I prepared each the 2nd time 1/2 & 1/2 w/the Sumatra;all I got was a Very Weak Coffee; Not even "Light". So, that's why the "3 Stars". I believe that One Village should Mention that these 2 are "VERY Light" roasts; not simply "Light".[And I do use 20-30mg per 6oz Cup that I prepare; Freshly Ground Whole Beans each Morning, for my French Press.]So; I have learned my lesson. Stick to What I know I like; No More Trying Larger Sample Bags; I'll stick to the 2oz Samples offered by other Vendors to do that; In search of another Strong, Bold Coffee Like the "Divine Sumatra" that I prefer.

If roast dates are important to you, then DON"T buy this coffee. Each bag I received in this sampler had a 5-week old roast date. That's not a good thing. It's why I can't offer an opinion on the coffee, it's too far out of the 2-week freshness period to get a sense of the beans. Anyway, skip this offer and stick with roasters that ensure freshness. In fairness, that might include direct orders from the One Village site.

I believe Honduras batch has complex aroma before and after brewing but rest of them (Ethiopean and Sumatra) was not what I expected.

Loved these! We've been using One Village for years and couldn't be more happy with them and their product.
