Nowadays I always question durability or strength of products. Cause they don’t make ‘em like they used to. This product however stands up to the test. I am a big person, (245lbs) and walking on this grate I didn’t think for a moment that there would be an issue. A+ for a well built grille.

We removed our really old, forced air, natural gas-fired furnace. We installed a Williams freestanding, vented (through the existing chimney) 60,000 BTU natural gas space heater. It has a two-speed fan with an OFF option.The outside temperature yesterday was -18C and well below -20 at night. That's without the wind chill factor. Brrrrrr!We now have radiant heat which warms the wooden floor under our feet. It's like having a wood stove but it's clean. Plus, natural gas is cheap. We live in an 800 sq. ft. bungalow and the space heater is in the basement. I've insulated the basement so there's little or no heat loss there. The floor is concrete and warms up nicely when the space heater is running. It holds the heat and releases it slowly when the space heater is not running at night. We like it cool at night.We tore out the existing ductwork. The 4"x10" openings did not allow enough heat to rise from the warm basement so we've replaced two already with 10"x12" openings and used the purchased 10"x12" grates to cover the openings. The difference in the amount of heat rising from the basement is amazing. I'm ordering two more today as I'm enlarging the 4"x10" openings in the kitchen and bathroom.These grates are really solid and heavy duty items. That's why I'm ordering two more.

We moved into a very old house and one of the furnace intake grills was literally missing and boarded over because someone had opened the vent to intake from the basement. We decided to reverse that modification, but unfortunately, the grill was an unusual size that I couldn't source locally. Thankfully, not only is this grill a perfect fit, but visually identical to the grill at the other end of the house. I am well pleased :-D
