A well rounded knife
The knife feels good. It is well weighted and easy to handle. While I do not have a problem with slipping, I can see why for others it maybe a problem. I personally do not care for the indent on the handle because that is generally not where I hold knives. I place my grip it further up onto the knife, on the blade and right before the bolster, holding it between the thumb and the index finger. (Look up how to hold a chef knife) So for me I don't think whether it is left handed or right makes a difference or not really anymore slippery than another knife. A fairly sharp knife out of the box, as with any knife from the factory, however you should sharpen it to get a much sharper edge. It can hold its edge for a while with moderate use at home. It doesn't hold as long in everyday restaurant use, of course, but its edge outlast most of the other knives my coworkers have.

Not for the left-handed. And not particularly sharp either.
I really wanted to love this for the look and because it looks like the Sai bread knives have the serrated edge on the opposite side, which would be perfect for us lefties. However, unlike the classic Global, the handle is asymmetrical so it is more comfortable in the right hand. It is heavy - at least as heavy as its German counterparts. That may be a good thing for some, but it made it feel clunky for me.Most importantly, this was not nearly as sharp as the other Japanese knives I tried (classic Global and Shun). I actually tried two different knives from two different distributors and both failed the paper test out of the box.

great little knife
not made for chopping by big hands but for my 13 year old, its a great utility knife for slicing. nice balance too.

Superb knife
The knife is extremely nice; the handle is ergonomic (for right-handed people only!), the balance is great, and the knife is visually appealing. The tsuchime finish allows "sticky" foods like potatoes to slide off the knife much easier than a smooth-sided knife. I will say that out of the box the blade wasn't quite as sharp as I was expecting, however a few passes over a ceramic hone cleaned it right up.

great edge and perfect balance
This knife is great for almost everything. Makes tasks alot easier to do and holds its edge almost perfectly. Balances well in the hand and great for fine chopping herbs as well since the handle is heavy it helps in the rocking movement for going back and forth. I love it and I've used globals for about 10 years.

Only problem I have with this knife is that it's ...
Only problem I have with this knife is that it's way too expensive! It should go for ~$100 less than what it is currently listed for. All same class competitor knifes go for around buck fifty! And yes, it is balanced! It's unbalanced if you don't know how to use knifes!

Super sharp, a bit heavy but a great knife
This is a serious knife. Super sharp, a bit heavy but a great knife. The blade is a bit thick. Holds an edge and sharpens well. Worth the investment

Global!!!
Coltello fantastico, come tutti i global, consigliatissimo. Certo si paga il marchio, non è un prodotto di nicchia, nel senso che non è un coltello giapponese artigianale, comunque sia molto valido, anche perché la cifra di acquisto è molto alta.

Great knife
This is a great knife, have been using Global knives for the past 20, years in the catering trade and they are one of the best out there. This knife is heavy, cuts though anything easily and you can keep the edge on the blade with a couple of strokes on a good steel. Recommend this if you are a keen amateur cook or professional chef.
