Cheers: The Complete Series [DVD]

What a great show!
I never saw this show when it was being produced, and only decided to try it after reading the memoir by James Burrows, who directed every episode, and who directed so many other great sitcoms. It's a joy to watch, and is a pleasant way to end a day.

Adds laughter to our days!
So far there's nothing to complain about! We didn't watch the series when it was popular. We enjoy a bit of nostalgia remembering the "times" and enjoy laughter in the midst of our complicated world!

Great sitcom!
This is one of my all time favorite shows and I'm sooo happy to own the series! The only complaint I have is that there's no way to have the DVD "play all". You have to start each show individually. This may seem petty but I have other series that have this feature (M*A*S*H, for example) and I like to just have them play continuously. Otherwise, I'm extremely pleased with it!PS: As I continued in the series, they began putting the "play all" option on the DVDs. Somewhere around the fourth or fifth season, I believe. Still, why they didn't do it on all of the DVDs makes no sense to me.

Best TV comedy of the era.
Cheers is arguably the best TV sitcom of the era, with very amusing scenarios, excellent acting, plot, humor, some serious issues tackled. High re-watchability. I've probably seen every episode dozens of times since it was on network TV. I have watched some of this set (not all) but the transfer and quality has been excellent. I also appreciate the heavy duty packaging for long-term storage and use. Definitely worth the $60 or whatever I spent on it.

blue cheer(s)
I watched a few episodes and compared them to the DVDs. The Blu-rays were far superior. The detail allows you to read fine print in the background, and the images are crisp, even in a home theater. The shows are the full 25 minute broadcast versions, not the shortened cable releases. These are NOT the DVDs transferred to Blu-ray; someone has done some restoration. I noticed details I could not see in the DVDs. Mind you, there are some long shots that are not as crisp, but they are infrequent. There is a slightly noticeable grain sometimes, but nothing unexpected. All in all, I am very happy I upgraded the series and will probably now watch them again (for the first time in HD). Worth the money. It also halves the shelf space, always a plus. It also presents the shows in the correct aspect ratio; you don't have to adjust the display device, as with the DVDs.

A Great Strole down memory lane! ;-)
This series is so fun and humorous! ;-) The only thing that I do not like is the Plastic disk Case. It is too cumbersome! ;-(
