2021 Version with Bright LED Lights and very effective
This bug light is my second try at finding a bug light that works. I ordered a different, highly rated model with a fluorescent bulb and it stopped zapping bugs after the third night though the light was still glowing. I returned the defective light and turned my search for a LED light as I figured the LED light would last longer and use less electricity. Though some reviews complain their LED light is dim, my 2021 model is as bright as the one I bought earlier. The bug light kills on average 150 small stink bugs every night. It has drastically cut down on the bug infestation I was experiencing. The unit is designed to hang on a wall but I keep mine on a flat surface. I have to brace it to keep it from getting accidentally knocked over by a curious cat...not an issue. While most bugs die and fall into the bottom tray, some fall to the side and must be cleaned up...not an issue as I place a paper liner under the light to catch zapped bugs that miss the tray. Some bugs get electrified and stick to the metal zapping grate. I UNPLUG THE LIGHT, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES then use a slender bamboo skewer to gently dislodge the bugs off the zapping grate. Common sense is to not use a metal wire to clean the zapping grate to avoid the potential for a shock. I clean it the following day after a night of use, just to keep it working as efficiently as possible as I want the maximum kill.

Not as good as a tubed zapper.
I wish I have never bought this, but since bugs in my RV are attracted to the LED lights in my RV, I figured it would work. Nope. I've been running out for weeks now and still have not caught anything with it overnight.I used to own a dual tubed bug zapper of the same size and it worked wonders. It would dance around this device in circles.I highly recommend you buy a tubed zapper than this LED zapper. I followed all instructions and all it does is sits there looking pretty. Other than that, the bugs prefer to fly elsewhere. I've sat one night during the weekend, lights off. The bugs would just fly around and ignore this device.I've got the slow moving bugs that got around, sometimes moths, lady beetles, etc. My RV is in a heavily wooded area. I haven't found all the ways, other than me opening the door, that they are getting in.Oh well. I was really hoping not to drop $45 on a really good tubed bug zapper. I should have done it. Now I've wasted my time and money testing this device out.I'd highly recommend you avoid this product unless you just want something that looks pretty.

Well built however low on brightness
The Light emitting area is small unlike the fluorescent tube type models. The small light emitting area does not seem to get an insect's attention unless it is the only light source in a totally dark environment. It works ok in my garage as my garage has no windows and is quite dark even in the daytime with all the doors closed. I had little luck with tube type units that stated a 8000 hour tube life but lasted only 900. I use the bug zapper on a timer so tube life was easy to track. The Led model has past 900 hours and shows no decrease in brightness or effectiveness. So it my not work well for all people, however it does seem to work ok for me.

Does it's job very well
Used indoors to kill off an infestation of gnats in our plants. When I say it's not easy to clean it's not the unit's fault. When the little bugs fry, they can stick to the electrodes and you need a small brush to clean them out. When I take off a star for noise level it's because when a bug fries, there is a very loud crack, enough to make my wife jump. I'm not complaining mind you as it is hilarious to watch her. It doesn't bother me at all as we'll both say, "YES! Got another one!" Over all, I'm extremely pleased with the unit and I'm just letting people know how the unit behaves in case those things might bother them if they purchased it. I'm extremely pleased with it.

LED does not appear to be as effective
Bought the LED to replace a conventional model with fluorescent lights that I have to change bulbs on every 4-6 months. It works, bit after 2 months of use I can say it has significantly fewer bugs killed than conventional model. Also didn’t come with big tray, so getting bugs out that fall into bottom pans is a little more challenging as you have to dump them onto the floor

Bugs be gon!
We normally have tons of flies in the summer at the back windows of our RV. This year we rarely see a fly one!

The LED lights last forever
I had bought a more expensive bug zapper on Amazon, but had not looked at other items. I found this one and I like the price and the fact that it has LED lights. But the weather has changed and it seems that the flying bugs are staying away. My old one only lasted 8 months.

Loud and not very good
PROS: Well... It does work to a degreeCONS:everything else. It's loud and works on occasion but not as much it should be.OVERVIEW: I like the fact that the bulbs are LED and won't need to be changed for a while. The occasional loud pop is freaky and scary. If it had been in time I would return and go back to the much quieter one despite the expense of the bulbs.
