How does the template attach to the lite bright?

Hi there, it just lays on top of the tablet facing.  If you want to secure it - you can put a peg into each corner of the Lite Brite until you start building your artwork - then the artwork pegs will stabilize it for you.

Why does lite brite not make truly reusable templates?

Thank you for your inquiry on the Lite Brite templates!  The templates are re-useable – they just will have holes in it; you can still see the color rings around the holes or use your imagination on colors for the next go-around!  Please note that you can download templates for free on the Basic Fun website under toys - Lite Brite - scroll down a few inches & click "downloads".  The ones that come in the kit or are purchased thru a refill pack are to get the artist started, from there, kids are acclimated and can let their imagination run wild! Can templates be reused once you punch holes in them?

You can still see the letter of the color or use your own colors to create a new variation of this picture to mix it up & inspire creativity! Hi there, 02215 is the item # for 2 different versions so you would need to compare your Lite Brite to the Lite Brite photo included on the item listing photo.  You can see the tablet has a sailboat on it.  Yours would need to match this tablet.  This tablet has the on-off switch on the back of the tablet & has a stand.
