These are lovely, sturdy, and just the right size - I was worried it would be too big but will be perfect for carrying a dinner plate, side plate, and glass from the kitchen. Note, I got these in "like new" condition from the Amazon Warehouse seller (which still has the usual 30 day return policy, btw), so they were only around $26 each. They seem to be exactly what I'd have gotten at full price. So definitely check out the open box/warehouse options! Only the packaging had been retaped.I had hoped for a set but decided I'll return one of them because there's just too much variation between them for my taste (see pics). But it might not bother most others (and some might actually prefer the contrasting colors of the one on the left, which is what I'm returning.) There are a couple of very small rough spots on both of them, but not enough for me to think I'd easily get a splinter or something. These do look nicer in person (and are definitely not "orange" as a couple of people stated). I've included photos of the two with and without flash.Natural variations in wood are totally normal, so I won't dock stars for that. It's part of what makes wood beautiful! But it would be nice if they sold these in sets of two that were paired to be at least more similar to each other.I'd originally been looking at the most popular tray, that faux leather covered one in a bunch of different colors, which even new isn't that much cheaper than this acacia tray if getting it 'like new'. The popular, cheaper one turned out to be made from carcinogenic material (had that California prop 65 warning, apparently). If I'm going to be serving food on this, even if on a plate, it's just not worth the cancer exposure risk. Stick with healthy, safe wood (and the website does say this tray is treated with a food safe coating!) I just really hope it actually IS sustainably harvested.

I got this tray because of the longer than normal dimensions. I can easily fit 2 pies, desserts, casserole dishes, etc. side by side without any overlap making transport easy. The finish is quite slick making cleanup easy but you will need to put a dish towel or something under the dishes to minimize sliding, which if you're transporting hot dishes you would anyway hopefully. It also has nice high sides on it to lower the worry of sliding off of the tray. The wood itself, staining and finish are beautiful. My sister saw mine and immediately ordered herself one. A necessity of any gathering.

I bought this tray in used but good condition. The tray has a few tiny, TINY dents or scratches but I planned to put a place mat on the tray regardless, so these didn't impact anything at all, and really they're hardly noticeable even if I intended to use the tray plain. The wood it's made from is beautiful, satiny smooth and a little shimmery, telling me the wood is well conditioned to begin with. It's very well made. It's a large tray, which is what I was looking for. It's the perfect size for what I wanted, which is to film embroidery videos as I sit in my recliner. I wanted a work surface that was attractive and sturdy, with enough space for everything I need. A bit more niche than something like serving breakfast in bed, but I'd recommend it for that, too. It would have plenty of space for plates, cups, and anything else you need. It works great for me!

I thought this was expensive for a TV tray, my use. Quality and craftsmanship make this perfect for serving tea and crumpets or any lighter fare. It's impressive design is artful and I like it. Berk says BUY IT.
