Amazon slacking on return
I have been trying to get a refund on this and another item for a month. Status says has not been received, but tracking shows it was returned on the 8th of July. It's a decent tuner, but a bit limited for the price. Mine only had 3 tunes to choose from. Transmission, Tow, and Extreme. Tow mode was horrible on my F150. It does allow you to change tire size and gear ratio. Seems like you can't make any other adjustments unless you reset to factory first, then go into custom. There you can change shift firmness and shift points, idle, etc. Need to download extra stuff to do some of the onboard testing for data. My computer gave me a virus watching so I didn't proceed.Overall, it's alright, just about $200 too much imo

2008 F-150 STX, 4X4 with the 4.6 V-8
I just came back from a 250 mile round camping trip with my 2008 F-150 STX 4X4 with the 4.6 V-8, K&N cold air intake, running 87 octane gas, hauling a 2001 Jayco Quest camper weighing 5200 lbs. empty weight, 6100 lbs loaded with gear. My F-150 has the factory upgraded heavy duty tow package and before I purchased the CS2, hauling this camper in the hills of eastern South Dakota was a chore for this small V-8.The tranny would bounce between gears and it would bog down really hard pulling the hills. Getting my rig up to 60 mph was tough because let's face it, the Ford 4.6 isn't a power house hauling a heavy load!I installed my tuner with no issues (make SURE you update the tuner before installing!!!), customizing the gauges was a breeze and upon talking to Edge tech support, it was advised to keep the tuner in the second mode which is tow mode always. When we left home in eastern SD, we had a 15 mph tail wind and getting up to speed and maintaining 65 mph was effortless! Fuel mileage for the 125 mile tip with the tail wind was between 13 and 15 mpg. Before the CS2, 11 to 13 mpg.Pulling the hills, you can definitely feel the extra torque digging in on the hard pulls with about a 5 to 7 mph loss of ground speed, versus a 10 to 15 mph loss without the CS2. Coming home today, was a totally different story! We were pushing 15 mph cross winds and head winds so getting up to speed was a little difficult and my mileage was 8.5 to 10 mpg but compared to not having the CS2, it was night and day and let's face it, towing anything in head and cross winds won't be very fuel efficient! Getting to a safe speed and having the ability to maintain it is what you're achieving!Having the ability to monitor the tranny and coolant temp was a God send! Knowing what the actual temps gave me the ability to slow down to keep the temps in an acceptable rage and the way Edge sets these tuners up with the ability to see when you're getting up there and alarms to keep you from harming your ride is, in my opinion, one of the best features of purchasing this tuner!Without my camper hooked up, I have been getting a major increase in fuel mileage from 17 to 18.5 to 20 to 20,75! I was really skeptical about purchasing this but I honestly admit, this was WELL worth the investment in giving my little V-8 more power, better torque, less shifting and better mileage. If you're looking for a tuner that will help your ride pull better, give you the ability to see what your engine and tranny is doing, keep you from overdoing you engine and help the mpg's, then this tuner will do all that and more! You won't be disappointed!

Buyer beware
I recently bought a new CS2. After going through the set up procedures I tried to upload a program to my 2013 Ram 1500 and it stopped half way through programming and said there was an error. This was on a Friday evening when this happened of course the truck would not start and was stuck in the middle of my driveway. Customer service in only open Mon-Fri. I called on Mon and went back and forth with them for 5 hrs trying different thing, at one point an Edge employee asked if I had a battery charger hooked to my truck while I was uploading the program, I of course didn't and he tells me that if your battery is old and doesn't sit a 12v that it can cause issues. I followed the directions to a T and no where does it say that helpful tip. After everything was said and done they said the only thing that they can do is reflash the ECM and to get in the mail to be overnighted to Utah (shipping label was paid for by them) They said it would be back to me on Wed. This did not happen, I called on Wed. when it didn't arrive, they were closed due to the holidays, I called the following Mon. and the guy on the line couldn't figure out where it was only that they received it. I called again Tues. and this guy tells me my ECM will be in my hands tomorrow. I have been without a truck for 12 days nows, and have resorted to driving my 46 willys with no top, doors, or heater in Dec in Iowa. Be cautious when buying this product, DO NOT DO THE INITIAL PROGRAM OF A FRIDAY NIGHT. The only reason this gets 3 stars is because I had a Edge programmer on my 06 Ford and it worked great and flawlessly for 5 yrs

Lots of readable data!
Had this in my 2013 f150 5.0. For 2 months now. I just hut 100k miles and this programmer has tightened the shifting and response of my truck. It says to use mid grade when you tune your ecu. I love all the live data you can see. It's accurate to my dash transmission temp and speedometer. They read the same. As far as improved mpg I'd say i get about a mile better pergallon in the city and about 3 miles better going 65-70 on the highway.

Good but not great
I purchased this to hopefully improve the towing ability of a 2008 Chevy Avalanche with a 5.3L V8 w/K&N C.A.I. that was pretty much a wimp at towing. First I used the standard setting to improve fuel economy and I was impressed as it helped by 2-3 mpg on one tank (not towing). After that, I filled up with 91 octane and tried the towing setting. On both settings I could tell a difference in the transmission shift points and it felt a little stronger on the towing tune but not enough to make me feel better about towing with this truck. This tuner is very easy to use, takes only a few minutes to change tunes and seems like a fairly good product but the difference it makes is not overly dramatic and maybe a little disappointing if your vehicle is really in need of improvements.I sold my Avalanche and bought a new 2500HD diesel pickup and towing problem is now solved.

2008 F150 5.4 running horrible with any tune selected
Not sure what’s going on, worked great for a short period of time. Now surging almost sounds like it’s missing at low load. Does it on tow or extreme selected tune, when I select transmission tune only it runs smooth again. Will contact Edge support for help. I feel this was expensive for 3 tunes, transmission only, tow or extreme. Where’s economy tune?It does make a noticeable difference when you select the desired tune for your vehicle. My truck definitely shifts more firm and when extreme is selected I can actually feel the power increase. Waiting for Edge support to get back to me.

I should have bought this year's ago.
Done some research before purchasing this product and so far it's lived up to the hype. I own a Ford F150 with the 4.6 and this tuner has woken up this truck. The biggest thing I noticed the how much better the transmission shifts towing mode. I'm still learning how to use this tuner but there is lots of custom tunabilty for the engine and transmission.

Very easy to connect and use.
Used it for my f150 as I was towing a 37 foot camper, power in a box, the best way to describe it.
