Q: Do they sell the landing gear for this airplane on here

Q: Do you need a specific reciever?

Any 4 channel or more receiver and transmitter will work, but it will not have AS3X and SAFE capabilities

Q: will the bind and fly version work with an older spektrum DSM2 transmitter?

You can google it or ask the dealer would be your best bet if your transmitter is able to bind to other receivers iy should work bit not 100% sure

Q: The ball joints where you connect the control rod to the control horns - anyone know what type of screw head this is? it's not phillips or hex. jis?

According to the manual, it says that the screw needs a 3mm hex wrench, and the nut requires a 4mm nut driver. I haven't started mine yet, so I can't confirm this.
