Quiet and reliable, about to buy another
Owned it for almost three years, drained my 17,000 gallon pool a few times with it. I'm using a garden hose connection so it takes a couple days to drain, but it's worked quietly and reliably every time. It only stopped working because I locked the float up, ran out of water to drain and overheated the pump. It's a hell of a deal and I'm about to buy another one.

Hesitated to buy exceeded my expectation by 10 fold
So let me just say, my basement had flood because our water pump failed. I used a regular sump pump to keep the basement from really flooding. Every 4 hours I went down and pumped the water outside. That was 24 hrs a day, I bought this pump to "just" get me by. Thinking cheap price, cheap product. We'll it was cheap, but very impressed in the qaulity. Very quite, pumps like a champ, and very easy to setup, less than 5 minutes. I am gonna see how it goes for the next month, but I'm already sold on buying another as a backup. It came just in time because tommorow I have to leave for the entire day. I left it for 5 hours today and I checked to see how it was doing, and no water. Needs to be dialed in a little bit, but am very very happy it does what it says, thankyou

used in a 5gal bucket in oregon
Just a heads up folks, this will air lock so drill the weep hole. I was able to air lock my pump and didnt have a weep hole. I love how quiet the pump is. I have had it in a since March 2024. so only a few months of rain but it works well. i zip tied the float to the handle so it would be auto-magical in a 5gal bucket. I also ziptied the float to the side of a the bucket through a hole and that worked as well. In case any is trying to be cheap or this "the way it was" in your location. I would say grab a wayne if you want reliable and better built but this is my backup. Just thought i would pass on my weep hole and zip solution(s) to those that are interested. *Update 11/2024 pump starting to fail. Didnโt last very long. Pay for a reliable one

It Now Supports a Garden Hose!!
I just received my unit today 14 July 2023. It now comes with a 3rd adapter (the listing only shows 2) and this 3rd adapter has a 3/4" hose thread. So anyone who buys a unit now will be able to use a garden hose. I personally will use a 1 1/2" pool flexible hose but for those who need it the option is there. I am giving it a tentative 5* rating for this upgrade even though I haven't unboxed it yet. I will modify later if I run into any issues. I wanted to get the news out quickly. Please see photos for details. Update 7/23/23: This item was missing the nylon cord that is supposed to be in the box to lift it out f the water - in my case a 12' pool. I know I can go and buy some cord but lowering the rating due to a quality control issue that is annoying. Update 11/26/23: I upgraded the rating after using it. Still annoyed that I had to spend an extra $10 buying the cord to lower it in the pool, but it worked great. I bought it to empty an 18000 gallon pool with a 10' deep end and it emptied it in 9 hours for an average of about 2000gph. That may seem low compared to its rating but it had to pump the water up about 10' and I used 150' of flexible hose that went around bends and corners. So given the pressure drop and the length I thought this was pretty good. It is on sale today for about $12 less than I paid. I think this is great value if it looks suitable for your use case.

Reliable
I bought one of these years ago for winter flooding and it worked perfectly until I messed it up. So I replaced it with the exact same item. If some works good stick with it and don't let it eat rocks like I did the first one

Important to Find the Right Hose
My basement sump pump was malfunctioning, I wanted to try to empty the pit with this pump. It is extremely important to find the right hose for this pump! I had two hoses in the garage, one didn't fit and the other one I was barely able to secure to the threads. The connection was loose, but I wrapped a plastic bag around the loose connection and decided to give it a try. I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THIS! The moment I immersed it into the pit, the hose got disconnected and a huge fountain sprayed up!! The disgusting pit water got into my eyes, my ear, my mouth, my clothes. While I was in shock, the fountain kept spraying up to the ceiling and onto everything in the basement. I managed to stop it and immediately ran upstairs to take a shower. I had to rinse my eyes with lots of clean water and irrigate my ear with a solution of distilled water and vinegar. Then there was a nasty cleanup in the basement. I was upset for the rest of the day. Later I found the right connector at Home Depot. It's just too bad that the pump doesn't have a universal hose fit.
