I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the booksellers sending me a copy when mine was lost in the mail. Aside from that, a critical read detailing social interest relating to adlerian principles.

This later work by Alfred Adler is a very good primer for newcomers to Individual Psychology. Particularly applicible in today's hurried world, Adler shares his wisdom on child rearing. More important, he focuses on the development of social feeling in the individual and its importance to individuals and society as a whole. Adler explains the impact of the development of feelings of ineriority and their dramatic effects on people. He also deals with society's attempts to achieve perfection and the detrimental impact of war, capital punishment, any attempts to place women in an inferior position in society, and a host of other societal issues that are relevant today. The only drawback to this book is his 19th Century position on gays and lesbians. If one can overlook his position on this issue, which may reflect more the views of society at that time, this book will provide invaluable insights.

Really good read, it came in tact no tears or bends.

Ein Buch mit dem Titel "Gemeinschaftsgefühl" (= Social Interest) gibt es von Alfred Adler nicht. Man könnte also vermuten, dass es sich dabei ein auf Englisch geschriebenes Werk aus seinen späten amerikanischen Jahren handele. Dem ist aber nicht so - es ist die englische Übersetzung von "Der Sinn des Lebens".Da es sich dabei um eine Übersetzung ins Englische handelt, ist der Text für deutschsprachige Leser nicht von Interesse. Außer, man möchte wissen, wie die Übersetzer die deutschen IP-Begriffe ins Englische übertragen haben.
