I love the bag-- the quality is amazing and it's just beautiful. I also love the fact that they are not fast fashion. I do wish there had been more details about the size so I'm leaving this review in case it helps someone else. The bag measures 12" high and 8.5" deep. Meanwhile, it's 10.25" across at the bottom and 17" across on top. The handle drop is about 8.5". What all this means is that it will hold a lot and I mean a lot! The handles are also short enough to be held in the hands and also on shoulders. I was looking for something smaller, but I'm still keeping the bag because it's so darn beautiful! The bottom is not solid, but I just added a piece of perfectly cut cardboard and so far it seems to be working fine.

The leather is beautiful, thick and soft with a nice sort of drape. It’s well-cured, and has a nice smell. It isn’t as shaped as I expected, the bottom sort of buckles instead of staying flat when it has heavy things in it (like my computer) but that doesn’t really bother me at this point. The color is a little different than I expected, more a tobacco than a saddle tan, but it’s rich and “rustic” and I like it. It’s fairly light for a bag this size and thickness, which is great. The color holds, and doesn’t stain even in the rain. The company is very responsive if you have questions. Best of all, I did some research before I bought because I’m caring a lot these days about “slow fashion” and ethically made products, and this company ticks the boxes. I’ll definitely be buying more from them.

Absolutely soft and beautiful leather. Smells so nice, lining is a pretty striped brown. A big thank you to hide & drink for such a great job on their products and a very big thank you to my husband for buying me this beautiful bag :)

This is a truly gorgeous tote bag! I absolutely LOVE this company!! This is the third piece I’ve purchased from them and the quality is top notch on all three (laptop case, case for chargers/cables and now this tote). This bag is made of beautiful, quality leather (mine is the single malt mahogany colour) and I’m sure it will outlive me!! It smells like a leather dream and I’m certain I will never have to buy another tote bag again!😂 The interior is done just as beautifully as the exterior. The plaid lining is great quality and the entire bag is extremely well sewn. It has a roomy interior zip pocket and two slip pockets. This is a very roomy tote which can hold a lot. I bought mine for travel purposes. It was definitely worth the monetary investment and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quality leather tote bag!!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Excellent bag! Roomy enough to carry all essentials and then some. Love the sewn in key fob which keeps keys from sinking to the bottom. Handles are perfect length for carrying at side or on shoulder. Looking forward to the patina the leather will acquire over time. Best of all is the top notch quality and no doubt it will last long after me. To H&D... please make it in another color and I'll buy another so I can bequeath one to each my daughters! ;)

I bought numerous Hide & Drink creations over the years. Unfortunately, I'm seeing a trend toward lowering the quality of their products especially the quality of the leather being used. As a result, the colors are dull, leather has plain plastic-like texture beyond hope for shine. I do hope this is still real leather that they are using--not so sure if it's not PU leather. Really unfortunate 😕

I didn't; know exactly what I wanted until I saw this bag. I didn't want compartments. It had to be one open space so I could use however I wanted. My camera, French magazines, Kindle, small necessities, water bottle and more will all fit. And it smells wonderful==like in an old cobbler's shop.

I ordered the single malt mahogany because I loved the color. Unfortunately I seem to have received the bourbon brown. I still gave it 3 stars because the quality is great and the leather is very soft but I really wanted the other color. In looking at pictures other reviewers added, it appears the color labels on the description may be reversed. I just ordered the bourbon brown. Hopefully it will be the lighter color I wanted and I’ll return this bag.
