Future Beach Eclipse Kayak

Purchased at Ocean State Job Lot in MA, July 2013. You will note from the picture that the seat back is held vertical by a strap which is secured to the hull with a plastic clip. In our case the maximum weight the boat was subject to was a 150lb adult. The plastic clip distorted within 10 min. of use and failed within 10 uses - thus rendering the boat totally useless. Thankfully it was near shore when it failed. The boat was less than 30 days old when it failed. Look elsewhere. It is a very poor design in my opinion.

The seat back adjustment buckle broke the second trip out. It appears that the strap, bu itself, cannot be purchased. The entire seat assembly for $74 must be bought!Furthermore, the design is so stupid that one would think the designer had never kayaked! The low point in the kayak, is guess where? The seat! Consequently, the paddler must sit in water at all times! That is irritating, especially when it's a little cool out.The second time out I lost all six plugs which were not fastened to the kayak! When operating with the plugs out the drag is great. When with the plugs, the kayak quickly fills with water.The cup holder is not deep enough to do any good at all when there is water inside and there is no drain on the cup holder. The cup then floats about the boat since it's buoyant in the cup holder. Overall, a crappy design!

The Whole family uses this kayak, from Dad to my little sister…we have 2 of them.Super easy to use and we got them at a great price.
