I received an R2D2 french press for Christmas that had plastic parts in it. I was a newbie to the french press, so I didn't know that plastic was a terrible idea. If you use a kettle to boil water, it will warp the plastic. After using the R2D2 for a month, I realized I needed a better french press. I took to amazon to research french presses that look as good as they perform. This one does not disappoint.The red stainless french press is beautiful and functional. I love that it's double-walled to keep liquids hot while waiting to press. I also love that it has marks on the inside to indicate liquid height. By the time you combine your coffee with the water, I don't know that it's completely accurate, but it gives you a general idea. It's very easy to clean, and the mesh is tight and sturdy to prevent grounds from getting caught in it. All parts are stainless, so no plastic warping. I also use the microfiber cloth that came with it to dry it and use the coffee scoop. No, the red is not dishwasher safe, but I tend to hand wash my french press anyway. The picture does not do it justice. It's a beautiful shade of deep red that gleams when it's cleaned with the included cloth.

I hate to break the streak of 5 star reviews but my item was missing 2 out of 3 items from the package. The press is supposed to come with a polishing cloth and a coffee scoop, it's even printed on the box so I know it is not a promotion.It is fair to say that the press is great but if the QA/QC department can miss 66% of the item that go in the box it makes me question if something else may break/fail soon.Edit after a few months. Vacuum sell on the luv broke, you can hear the air leaking. Still keeps things warm though.

The color is great, and the double wall does help keep the coffee hotter for longer. It's also big enough for two people to have a real-sized cup of coffee each. That being said, the screen seems to cut/scratch the inside of the container with each pass and the screen is more difficult to clean of grounds than the glass press this one replaced. I'd buy it again, but perhaps with less enthusiasm than my initial purchase

This French press is great. First of all, it's beautiful, the picture doesn't do it justice, it's a deep shade of metallic red. I've had bad luck with presses before. Glass ones break others were cheaply made and fell apart. This press is hardly expensive and it delivers. It won't break if dropped, the plunger fits snuggly against the wall of the press to prevent coffee grounds from getting in the coffee. It is insulated and stays warm for about a half hour unlike glass presses. It has a very nice metal scoop. I just love it!

A very good French press, very attractive red color. HOWEVER after about 9 months the red paint started chipping off. No painted part has ever been in the dishwasher... no excuses for this. It's a shame because other than the paint problem, it's the nicest one we've owned

Very disappointed with the finish. We ordered the red pot and now, less than a year later, over half the finish has peeled off. It looks awful and we will probably replace it with another brand. Note that the red finish is NOT electroplating, it’s just red paint. We hand wash our pot (don’t have a dish washer). Even so with gentle care the paint was peeling off the handle within a few month. Will definitely never order anything from this manufacturer in the future.

I bought one of these about six months ago and I still love it madly. My Mr. Coffee is jealous because I don't use it anymore. "Simple" and "stainless steel" are two of my favorite words. Coffee won't develop that burnt flavor if it's been setting for a hour. For the most part, it keeps coffee and tea hot, but you'll want to rinse out the interior with hot water before brewing.Tea. That's right, you can use it for brewing tea. Some of my friends convinced me of the error my ways and talked me into buying leaf and brick tea instead of bags. Use this. It's a revelation.The only mark against this French press is that the powdered coating on the bottom is looking a little rough, but I do use it every day. As long as the interior keeps working as it has, this is a keeper.

I'm very happy with this unbreakable French Press, having had 2 glass ones that, yes, broke. I find it a little difficult to determine whether I've put in the right amount of water when I'm just brewing one cup and so have added a line inside, just above the water mark, with a permanent black marker.I find this helps and so far has lasted through many pot fillings.I like that the top is so designed that you can close the pouring spout with the top until the coffee is brewed and ready to pour.Altogether this is well designed, good looking and came well packaged. I recommend it.
