It is soothing and healing. It helps keep flies from biting my horses belly.

I bought this to treat summer sores on my horse. After trying compounds made by the vet as well as over the counter medication, I have found this works the best at treating them. I noticed a difference in 24 hours.

My elderly gelding has always struggled with itchy belly sores, scratching against anything he can find. He would work up a sore weepy area about 12 inches in length that then the flies would attack. Have tried many products over the years that would either burn/hurt when applied or just do nothing at all. Even expensive vet prescribed lotions and ointments. On a whim I thought I would try this upon reading other recommendations figuring what do I have to lose. I applied it gently to the raw area and he didn't flinch one bit... Next day I went out to see him and he wasn't itching away!! and no in the raw area!! They were buzzing around but not landing.. I applied daily just enough to cover... within a couple of days it was all scabbed over, and within a week I started to see fur growing back!! he gets it daily now, no more scratching, fur is completely grown back (I've had him for 10 years and have never seen fur in this belly area even when healed in the winter). So glad it has resolved the itchy belly area!! Will always have this in my tack locker for daily treatment.

Waste of money. Seriously, why would you put a product intended for horses in such a tiny jar?! Crazy expensive, and the one or two applications that it contains did nothing. The ONLY effective remedy I’ve ever found for sweet itch is yellow sulfur powder mixed with olive oil, applied to the affected areas. Works like a charm and it’s CHEAP. (You’re welcome).

One of our horses suffers terribly from bug bites. I have tried a multitude of ointments, sprays and oils. This Belly Salve works the best of anything I've tried. It will usually soften the crusty areas on her belly with just one or two applications. She is really itchy and rubs her neck and shoulders on anything and everything to the point of being raw. This salve works well there too. I use it all over....where ever she needs it. I definitely recommend it.
