Swann Professional NVR Security Camera Recorder with 2TB HDD, 8 Channels, 4K Ultra HD Video & Smart Video Analytics, 88780H

I bought this system as nearly new it was like new I am very pleased with this system along with the Swann camera I bought separately

Refund has taken all month and more! I wanted to replace my old Swann nvr as the cameras it came with worked perfectly well, even tho the nvr itself had broken down after 5 years. BEWARE you have to look up a long list of Swann cameras that are compatible with any new nvr and Swann told me my existing (Swann) cameras would not work with any new nvr despite there was nothing wrong with them and they were expensive at the time. They also said they would no longer support the (Swann) cameras themselves - charming. So I sent the nvr back the next day 30th April via a courier collection. and as of 1st June I have still not received refund of £239 (despite a number of enquiries which sent me round in circles) which will probably make me overdrawn. As you can imagine I am not the Happiest Bunny. I would recommend Reolink on several levels for support, ease of use and true plug and play technology as I now have their kit and am doing very well as hubby and I had all 4 cameras up, installed and running in one day, thank you for asking ((0;

Swann CCTV 8 Channel 2TB HDD 4K Ultra HD- New shape.Was able to setup from the limited instruction leaflets included to make sure it all worked before installing. But now I’m having to rethink the whole install. The fan noise is needlessly excessive. Poor housing design that blocks most of the fan, which I’m surprised got signed off by quality control. (See picture) It was going in small bedroom/study, but the fan noise is stopping that plan. Then I thought maybe in lounge by tv and router. But again it’s too loud IMO. So now I’m really trying to figure out cable runs to somewhere the noise won’t be a problem. Looking online there are DIY mods you can do to reduce noise, but will invalidate warranty.If you are going to put this in noisy environment, it’ll be ok. If you like peace and quiet, I’d seriously think about it’s suitability and location. I’d give it 3 stars.Update- After two weeks I’d had enough fan noise and returned new shape NVR-8780 and got the old shape, 8 channel NVR-8580, which is FAN LESS and QUIET. Even though it was more expensive, I’m glad I changed it. I’d give 5 star for the old shape.Both the new shape and old 4K NVR have same operating software. It’s the 4K camera model that you use with the NVR that unlock/lock specific Video Analytic features.

The unit was our reconditioned one, and when it arrived, it still did not work

After only 7 months in use it stopped working and after sales have refused to replace it! After initial contact I have had no replies to my many emails of complaint.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!

I purchased this after my DVR failed, I was assured by SWAN that it would be compatible as I did not want to replace all my perfectly working cameras. This was a straightforward install very easy instructions and it worked with my current cameras and came with a newer version app which is much better than the old app so was worth it just for this as I found the last app unpredictable and a little unstable.The quality of pictures also seems improved even without replacing any cameras so all in all I would give this 5 stars, its important to note that there is a DVR and NVR something I didnt pay enough attention to on my initial purchase if you have network cameras then you need the NVR and if your cameras are the standard metal plug type then the DVR is the type you need.
