VaterJosh Freese H220 Drum Sticks, Pair

I've been playing drums for over twenty years and have used a range of different sticks aimed at rock to jazz to metal drummers. As I progressed from my angry teenage years through to my more thought out twenties and into my thirties I've changed sticks to suit the style I was playing at the time. I recently discovered Vater's Stewart Copeland series drumsticks. I've been a fan of Stewart's before I was playing drums. In fact, I owe Stewart a large debt of thanks as his style has had a huge influence on my own. Since I have taken playing more seriously again in the last few years I decided to see if my favorite drummer had a series designed by him (as every major drummer has these days), and was happy to find them available. The weight is perfect and they balance extremely well in the palm of your hand, and they are slim and long yet sturdy for those hard hits a rock drummer can make while being light enough for the tricky hi-hat paradiddles. They can also withstand a massive beating as I've had a pair last for weeks. So for those who like the hard hits as well as the light hand-work, I would recommend the Vater Stewart Copeland series sticks. They are the best I have used.

These sticks are great, decently heavy, not a light stick which I love. They’re super easy to fire fast and stay controlled more so than some other sticks I’ve played on.

This is a really great drum stick, and definitely my go-to.It's nice and lightweight and feels very natural. It isn't the most durable as I do notice chipping pretty early on but it stays together really well after being "broken into". I would definitely recommend this stick to anybody who wants to try a lighter stick, but still feels like it isn't a toy.I'm not sure what to do about it but on my latest order one of my "pairs" was missing a stick. This is far from my first time buying this so I know this isn't a reoccuring issue, just a simple mistake.

These sticks feel great have great control.. and weight just enough to slow you down. Seriously I think they're awesome but if you aren't already playing them you'll be lagging. It's very unsettling. Otherwise they are great to play. And the look sick.

I normally use 7a or 2b sticks depending on what I'm playing. I gave these a shot to see if I could find something in the middle to use all the time. I am so glad I tried these sticks, they are a perfect size for me and now I only use one size instead of two. I also only used nylon tips up until now and I like the wood tips on these sticks better. This size let's you hit heavy with rock music or light with some jazz. It really is a great all around stick. I highly recommend them.

I've been searching for my perfect drumsticks: and I believe I found it with the Josh Freese Vater drumsticks. If you play a lot of pop, pop punk, or even soft acoustic stuff, (I play for a church) this is a great stick: this is exactly between a 5A and a 5B drumstick and is very well balanced. I have smaller hands than most people, but this is one of the most comfortable drumsticks I've ever used and is perfect for my genre of musics. The designer of this drumstick, Josh Freese, is a well known studio drummer who's played on almost 300 albums (Kelly Clarkson, Devo, The Vandals, Nine Inch Nails, Avril Lavigne, Paramore) and for a variety of artists, so if anything, I guess that's a good sign. Even if you're not a fan of Josh Freese, if you've been looking for a stick that combines the best attributes of a 5A and a 5B together: this is it.

Despite the length of these sticks being an inch longer than what I usually use, I absolutely love these!I've always dreamed of getting a pair of wooden drumsticks that had a black finish, nylon tips, and a diameter that was at least a little thicker than 5A.I mostly use them for practicing on a pad, but I'm also hoping that I'll get to use them for a Christian Rock gig (although I probably won't have one for quite sometime now).

I really have nothing bad to say about these sticks. The length and balance is perfect for me. I perform monthly 5 three set shows and a variety of music. I play pretty hard and these sticks hold up. The tips sometimes have pieces that splinter off, but that is expected for my kind of gigs. At least give them a shot and see if they are right for you. Vater has out performed all the others in my book.

i am an extremely hard hitter, when i get going and these are just amazing, after an hour of beating the hell out of my drums, they are still standing with barely any marks, they are a little heavier than most drumsticks which can hold you back a tiny bit but other than that they are awesome, my favourite sticks so far.im going to try some vic firth titan aero space carbon fibre next so ill update this when ive tried themw, there round $60/£40 so im hoping they will be a lot better

I love these sticks. I always find Bates make quality, very durable sticks. The Funk Blasters are a good thickness and weight - somewhere between a 5a and a 2B. I like the extra weight verses a 5a (my previous usual stick). They last ages and feel very balanced.
