Ordered for a baby shower for a baby boy who will be named Oliver. Book has a great story.

This absolute gem of a book tells the story of 2 best friends, Oliver & Bug, and their unexpected and exciting journey into the world beyond "the big tree" where they've lived all their lives. There are adventures galore as they trek from one incredible discovery to another, asking questions of all their new friends along the way. There's enough suspense to keep kids (and adults) riveted, and the gorgeous illustrations are chock-full of color and movement. Kids will identify with Oliver's unending curiosity, the bond between best friends, and the delight of discovery. A wonderful tale of adventure and friendship!

Oliver reminds me of the quintessential “toddler” with all the questions and curiosity that comes along with that age. Although the target audience is probably 1-6 year olds, this book would be a fun read for children of all ages. The moral to the story is told in a subtle and entertaining way. I bought this book for a child’s birthday party gift and after reading it, ordered two more.

Read to the 18 month olds, but don't let them try. Little fingers have difficulty. Good tale about moving out of one's comfort zone

Our 5 & 7 year old love Oliver the Curious Owl! Both the instructive life story and illustration keep our kids engaged. They have re-read multiple times. My son read to his 2nd grade class. We are confident Oliver the Curious Owl will become an instant classic in millions of homes and schools!

This book is wonderful! The story, the illustrations and the subtle lessons woven in flawlessly - make for a fabulous adventure! The littles in my life - love this book and are full of questions and curiosity - just like sweet Oliver the Curious Owl!

This is such a sweet book that is beautifully illustrated. I know that both young ones and the ones reading it to them will enjoy. A little life lesson, too! It will make a great gift.

Oliver’s family are quite happy staying very close to the big tree they call their home. They’re also only concerned with “Who?” questions. But Oliver is different. Not satisfied with knowing “Who?”, he also wants to know “What?”, “When?”, “Where?” and “Why?”. His quest for answers leads him to wonder about “life <i>outside</i> the big tree”.Fortunately, Oliver meets a bug called Bug, who shares his curiosity. Although he’s worried about getting lost if they were to go on an adventure, something unforeseen happens and soon Oliver and Bug are exploring a whole new world. Along the way they meet new friends and enjoy new experiences.Oliver’s family are a lot more cautious than he is and I expect parents reading this book to their own owlets will probably want to make it clear that it’s not okay to wander off without their family knowing where they are. Having said that, this is an adorable book that encourages kids to be open to new who’s, what’s, when’s, where’s and why’s.I’m not sure how well this book would go down with family members who already hear “But why?” several hundred times each day but I love Oliver and Bug and their boundless curiosity about the world around them. The illustrations are full of personality and Bug, in particular, is really cute.
