This is fantastic! I chop vegetables, nuts, dark chocolate in this everyday! I just bought a second one to send to my son as a house warming gift. Truly a unique and wonderful way to chop!! Easy to use and easy to clean.

I'm always reluctant to give a 5 star review since there are so many fake ones out there, but this knife is awesome. It's become my favorite knife! It's sharp and cuts my veggies easily into small pieces. The cutting board is nice too. Get some good quality mineral oil like Clarks or Boos to go with it. My board was really thirsty. Aldo pick up the leather case to store it in and the green sharpening tool. You won't regret buying this at all. And it's made in the USA.

I ordered this and never got the block - only the knife. Great knife. Stupid me, ordered another block as I failed to note the discrepancy (thought I made an error on my order), so too late to do anything, but I paid way too much to replace what I should have gotten anyway. Duh.

Little did I know how much I would use and LOVE this chopper!! I make "chopped salad" almost everyday - I tried a friends "double blade" salad chopper - only to get very annoyed about everything getting stuck between the blades and a bit afraid of cutting myself trying to get it out! Looking again on Amazon I ran into the"Ulu"!!! I asked a few questions and got such a "TREMENDOUS" response from people that owned one - I ordered mine - I would be lost without it now!! The bowl is Wonderful - I thought it would be too shallow and everything would fly out while chopping....it really doesn't!! Now & Then something pops out - but it popped off the cutting board also. The way the blade fits into the bowl also makes everything easy - yes I have to chop each item individually - just as I did when I used a cutting board - but its soooo much quicker - and chopped sooo much better.YOU WILL NEVER REGRET THIS PURCHASE!!! It owns a very special place in my kitchen. I am not a gadget person..if I don't use it - I get rid of it! Hummm - I wonder if my cutting board will be the next to go!! I'm thinking of getting one for each of my kids for Christmas!! Again - thanks to all the reviewers!! This is why I take time to review my purchases - the reviews really do help people out!

The media could not be loaded.  This is the best knife I have ever owned. In seeking the best knife, I have a drawer full of knives. I can throw all those knives away. I have tried Ginsu knives, Pampered Chef knives (one knife can cost over $100) and Kitchen Aid knives. You name it, I've probably tried it. Nothing compares to this knife. It is both beautiful and useful. It is handmade from Alaska. It comes with a beautiful block/bowl and a small chunk of wood that you can display your Ulu knife in. I have never used anything like this but I don't think I will use any thing else now. I suggest buying the sharpener. I read someone else's review that said they were having a hard time sharpening it. This sharpener will make it so much easier. I think it is a knife that I will have for many years and something I can even pass on. It is easy to clean. You probably want to oil the handle and the block/bowl every now and again. I found out that I can use fractionated coconut oil on it. If it is even possible, the coconut oil left it even more beautiful.

Love it. Really handy chopping food in the kitchen. Only suggestion would be larger cutting board with the depression and a leather sheath for the ulu. It's sharp and would like to protect the edge.

Purchased this item to chop kale and other greens to add to my salad. What a great piece of equipment. Love it. The bowl keeps all the chopping contained. Nice to support a business out of Alaska. Finding new uses for it everyday. Two swirls with the ulu and you have perfectly chopped nuts. Check out their web site for ideas on how to use it. Nice wood and sharp blade.
