A Ushanka (also known as Trapper hat, Aviator hat, Shapka, Chapka etc.) is a traditional, yet stylish, Russian Military winter hat with ear and back flaps that can be left tied up or come down to cover your ears and neck. It's extremely warm to handle the frigid Russian winters. Made entirely of soft faux fur. This material is very strong and durable. The hat is lined in quilted cotton. Such hats were first used by Russian troops during WW2 to help them survive cold Russian winters and they're still used by the Russian army today! New, never worn. Direct from the factory. Made in Russia. We have these in three colors and 4 sizes European size Western size 58 Large; 60 X-Large; 62 XX-Large; and 64 XXX-LARGE. If they are to big or come to low just add some fabric or paper towel to the inside. All hats are shipped with a genuine Military red star emblem (not attached) . To attach, make tiny hole in the middle of front flap with awl or nail, insert pin, and bend it flat against the back of the visor. We are a direct importer of Russian Merchandise since 1997.

Very warm and comfortable ushanka! It shed a little bit after I took it out of the bag, but didn't shed at all afterward. Fit perfect and as expected. Thick and not flimsy at all. Plus, it makes my slav squatting 100% better. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic Ushanka
I purchased this for a Halloween Costume. Cousin Anatoli from Life of Boris. The hat seems to be well made and well stitched. It is also extremely warm. I did not anticipate keeping it around after Halloween, but it will be added to my winter clothing selection. The decorative pin it comes with is extremely thin tin without points on the pokey bits. You can make it work, but the hat is better without IMO.

Great hat
This product arrived quick and looked great, applying the emblem took a little elbow grease but not enough to hinder the rating. Overall hat was well stitched and great quality

Warm Hat
It really keeps your head warm on cold days. It does not blow off your head in a strong wind even if you do not have the ear flaps down. We get gusts where I live of 30+ mph on windy days which happens frequently in winter and early spring. I have yet to wear it when at the coast here in Oregon, but strong winds there can easily reach 60+mph. I will test it out when I get the chance. I like the hat a lot.

Great hat, but the pin can be a pain
Bought this for a themed office party. Hat fit great and looked like a true black - kind of expected it to be a dingy black. You're required to put the pin in yourself, and it was quite a struggle since the two prongs on the pin are flat pieces of bendable metal with the ends cut off at a 45 degree edge. The hat is well made, the inside is quilted and a has hidden pocket up in the top for stowing small things - like a flask maybe? It looks like it does in the pictures and fit as expected too.

Long lasting and warm
My boy has been wearing this hat for almost 5 years now! It’s getting too small but he still loves it. It’s warm and he loves the Russian pin on it. I did sew the pin on as it doesn’t stay on unless you do. Amazing purchase!

Bought this for my dad's birthday. It ran waaay too small for the size listed. I exchanged it for a larger size. The exchange was quick and painless. My dad loves the hat. It's very good quality for the price. I highly recommend it.

Great Winter Hat!
It is a good, warm hat you can either have the flaps up or down and the Soviet pin is metal for those wondering. It is a soft synthetic fur which is still really good I would recommend this product.
