Based on the part list for my 25” Side-by-Side KitchenAid Refrigerator this was the replacement thermistor. The hardest part was trying to figure out exactly where it was located. The schematics cold be a bit more informative. YouTube was actually very helpful. Turned out to be fairly simple to replace.

Sufficient for my needed repairs
I like the way the thermostat worked perfectly as soon as it was installed. The only complaint I have is that even though the advertisement indicated this part was compatible with my refrigerator, I had to put longer wires on it and a new plug compatible with old original plug. Okay for me because I’ve done a lot of work soldering and using shrink tubing to make a solid and water resistant seal.

Affordable and effective
My fridge suddenly the automatic defrost not working. I checked online look like the problem was the thermistor. I looked for the original part at first but none could deliver asap like this 2188820, so I gave it a try and it works in my whirlpool fridge. So happy and relieved my fridge is back to normal, both the freezer and refrigerator are cool till now. Its been a month and it look like work well.
