Simple solution, and it did in fact help with airflow on a duct coming straight up and bending 90 degrees. I got it for about sicks bucks here on amazon, they want too much for it now.

Must have with any flexible duct installation
Many Companies just tie their flexible ducting up with a tape made out of webbing when they must curve the flexible ducting, but you should NEVER allow them to do that. Within a very short period of time the ducting will collapse the ducting and it also cause a wind disturbance when the AC or Heat turns on. It diminishes the AC/Heating capability and also is noisy. Learn what should and shouldn’t be done when building or replacing your duct work. I have been Building and remodeling for 50+ years and used to have my Commercial Awning Contractors Liscense and was at the time one step above a Residential Contractors Liscense and one step below a Commercial Contractors Liscense. Do it right the first time and cry once about the cost or do it wrong and cry about it forever...
