Wonderful book with a great storyline about the love of adoption.

As being an adopted this is a wonderful adoption book!! I had a little girl in my class bring this book in to read on her "Gotcha Day" it is extremely heart warming and basically hits questions that might be hard for kids to understand. I even gifted this book to my friend who adopted her son. I highly recommend this book!One page does make a very light religious statement but that is it.

This book was the sweetest addition to an adoption basket that I put together for a friend’s adoption. It is a beautiful story of adoption whether you adopt from private agency or foster care! There is not a huge market for adoption gifts so I was so thankful when I found this book! It is beautifully written and pictures are so sweet!

Very sweet story and hits on most concerns you would have. We recommend this to adoptive parents. The art is also well done for the book.

I ordered this book for my daughter to read to her current foster sons that she will be adopting.The boys are at curious stages asking lots of questions and this book is well written and with a story a 4 and 5 year can relate to.

Such a cute story and so durable! Just be aware that the book does mention God. (Beacuse I was not)

We are an adoptive family from a domestic adoption and we are not overly religious. I say this because some adoption books are very religious. This books mentions God, but well within my spiritual context. It talks a lot about the waiting part of adoption and that is true for everyone adopting. I also gave it to my spiritual but not religious friend who adopted and she loved it also. It is such a sweet story and says what it feels like to have a "chosen child" which I am over the top lucky I have!

I just received this today and read it with great anticipation. It was everything I hoped for and more. As an adoptive parent this addresses the difficult questions we all anticipate with simplistic and loving words that every child can understand and every parent can appreciate. My daughter knows her story which keeps growing as she grows, but I think when the time is right this book will open up new dialogue between us. This book seems equally good for domestic or international adoption. I will also mention that this book references god as having a role in adoption. As I am spiritual this is not a problem but I do think it is worth mentioning. A great addition to my child's library.
