This summer, our attic was invaded by squirrels who chewed through the soffit and created a huge hole to the outside. In our quest to rid ourselves of these nasty pests and prevent damage to other parts of our home, we tried everything! We were able to trap and relocate 15 squirrels, 2 raccoons, 1 chipmunk and an opposum, but felt sure that there were still critters up nesting in the attic.We bought a strobe light, placed ammonia-soaked rags in the soffit opening, and grew desperate. Then we bought this ultrasonic machine. With both of those running 24/7, I feel we have finally gotten control of the problem and eliminated the creatures. I can only attribute this to the use of one or both of these devices and our constant vigilance. I don't understand fully how this works, but the noise that can only be heard by these rodents apparently makes the attic less hospitable and they don't seem to care to live within the attic.The device has several settings and you select the one that is appropriate for your needs. Again, the sound cannot be heard by humans so it won't be an annoyance to anyone living in the house. We intend to keep this device permanently in the attic as it uses only minimal electricity. We can finally close the escape hole and rest easy.Good luck!

Fresh out of the box brand new and unit is not working. I realize you are not supposed to hear this but in test mode you are. When I put it on test mode I hear nothing. I'm too afraid to trying to get another one. Because it makes me worried about how long it might or might not last.I was hoping this would work for my squirrels issue. They keep eating my plants out on my patio and tearing other things up. Unfortunately this will be going back.

This product quit working in less than 3 months. Contacted seller and they said they would replace it. Have not received replacement and no more communication from them. Only correspond with e-mail as they do not speak English.Update. Since this review, the right people at this company saw it and finally replaced my product. The new product is working as it is supposed to. This company really needs to improve their customer service so it is easier to communicate with them and delete any miscommunications. This was the fault of their customer service, not the company itself and I would recommend this product.

We have had a rat issue for months and hired a rat company to come out and they have been working on our house for months setting uo traps and bait stations and doing all kinds of crap that hasnt worked. I ordered this thing to try in my garage and at first wasn't sure if it was working. We moved it to the house along the wall of where the most activity has been. We can usually her them all night running above out bedroom ceiling in the attic. I set it up and put it on an annoying frequency for rats and have been changing the frequency every other day to keep them from getting used to the sounds which is very important i might add. W HAVENT HEARD A RAT A SINGLE NIGHT SINCE PUTTING IT UP THERE!!! please let me know if your having similar experiences. We haven't caught a single rat in any rat trap either. They are getting smarter. New technology needs to come out similar to this device but even better! I would highly recommend if you havent had any luck with traditional pest companies.

I really wanted to like this unit. It is very solid and well-built, and the controls and settings are easy to understand. Based on other reviews, it seemed like the best option for chasing away the squirrels and birds that kept eating the fruit on our trees. I didn't want to use a chemical repellent or essential oils or other such things that I would have to keep re-applying. I mounted it on an outside wall, pointing away from the house into the back yard where the fruit trees are.Unfortunately this unit gave everyone in my house headaches, no matter what setting we put it on. The product description and manual claimed that the sounds it makes cannot be heard by humans. However, my daughter could actually hear the high-pitched beeps, and while the rest of could not hear them, we were all affected. Any time we stepped out in the backyard we could feel something was wrong, and if we got close to the unit (say, within 15 feet), we got headaches. So I guess it works at repelling mammals of all sizes since it all made us want to leave the area!In the end I sent it back. Too bad since it really is well-built.

We are vegans trying to deal with a mouse problem in an apartment and we tried this unit. We have it in our kitchen and we change the frequency daily, just like it recommends, yet we have had mice eating bread off of the counter, mice in the stove and mice in the cabinets. What a piece of junk!!!!!!

I plugged this device in my garage. With winter time, squirrels tend to nest in the eaves. The chirping noises seemed to irritate them and have them find refuge elsewhere. I've purchased the cheaper $20 devices and tried mothballs, which only helped temporarily until the odor dissipates.
