I am extremely satisfied with this Chemex. From the moment I opened the package, I could immediately notice the outstanding quality, elegant craftsmanship, and attention to detail. I roast my own beans, use a R58 espresso machine, Technivorm drip, 2 press pots - large and small, and an Ibrik. So I'm fairly well versed in all things coffee. That being said, this Chemex makes a pretty good cup of coffee but takes a little practice! My "1/2 pot" dimpled indicator measures holds 12ozs and that produces a standard size latte cup, just FYI. The pot is suppose to be full at the bottom of the wooden collar, but for mine that's 32ozs. If the 1/2 pot dimple is "suppose" to be half a pot, that dimple is off by 4ozs. No big deal, but it helps to measure yours and confirm yours is marked accordingly. Instructions say use 1 TBS coffee per 5oz water. Like using a press pot, length of time the water is in contact with the grounds effects final taste and takes a little practice for consistency. So use a timer. Just remember when it says "6-cup" that's 5oz cups, not standard SAE 8oz! I usually drink two triple shot espresso drinks every morning, then I'm done with caffeine for the day. But this makes a nice change of pace when I'm bored with espresso. BTW - extraction temperature is critical with correctly brewed coffee or tea. Industry standard for coffee is 205 degrees, so I also us a COSORI electric kettle and it's only off by 1/2 a degree at the 205 setting. AND it's bluetooth for monitoring! Would I recommend this? If you're coffee geek like my self -- YES!

This chemex is perfect for true coffee tasting without unnecessary procedures or gadgets making this product perfect for traveling or on the go. I like the simplicity about it know that all I will need will be hot water. Furthermore, the glass is durable is easy to transport without worrying about extra items. Highly recommended.

This thing makes the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had! In the long run it’s much cheaper than K cups. Coffee doesn’t stay hot in the Chemex for very long though, but that’s not really a big issue. Just make a half batch or throw your cup in the nuker for 30 seconds or so and you’re good to go.

When my coffee machine broke I thought it might be nice to get something that wasn't just another electric appliance. So, I watched a ton of youtube videos on how to use a Chemex and took the plunge. Very easy to use once you have the technique. I don't even go all out and my coffee comes out delicious. The 6-cup version is perfect for "coffee for two". Typically I'm just making enough for myself but I like the bigger option for when I have a guest.
