One of the better pandemic books for children
Elmo is feeling nervous about going to school. This book is essentially a social story about what to expect on the first day of school and incorporating COVID-19 mitigation strategies (handwashing, wearing a mask, social distancing). While I am not the biggest fan of books involving commercial television characters, and there is evidence that children learn more from stories with fictional people (instead of anthropomorphized animals and characters), this is well written. It also does a nice job of teaching a social emotional strategy for dealing with uncomfortable emotions (hand on the belly and a deep belly breath). My least favorite part is Elmo coming home from school and playing on his computer/tablet.

Helped my toddler learn to wear a mask
My toddler was apprehensive about wearing a mask when she turned 2. This book helped us teach her about why masks are important to protect her and others. Elmo is her favorite so it really helped calm her down. Now she wears a mask like a pro!

Best book to introduce the mask!
I was looking for a book to introduce my girl to wearing a mask and this is it. She loves Elmo and they do a good job explaining the reasoning and rules of mask wearing in simple toddler terms. Highly recommend!

Great book for anxious kids
Great book with beloved familiar characters to help kids get used to masks, social distancing, hand washing, etc. It also includes multiple references to Elmo calming his anxiety by taking deep breaths, which is great for helping kids understand that their feelings are normal and ok and for teaching them how they can calm themselves... my kid is not the least bit anxious about school or masks, though, and I don't want to go about putting those ideas in her head by reading this book with her, so I'll be passing this book on to another family. It's still a great book, don't get me wrong, it's just not right for my kid.

For school age children, not really for toddlers
It's an ok book, but it's more like "first day of school coping techniques" than "it's good to wear your mask". So it's more for school age children than toddlers.

As a nurse dealing with covid and mom of a toddler I highly recommend!
This book is cute and simple. I like that it addresses helpful hints and information of things we need to follow face masks, distance and hand washing. Iβm a nurse handling covid patients and a mom of a toddler. I love it and fact it is Sesame Street as well kids listen more. Also I highly recommend the book βStay Healthy with Sesame Street Understanding Coronavirus.β That book is more for the older toddler/preschool age since it it more facts and information in a language kids understand.

Got my 2 year old to wear a mask π
She was adamantly refusing and one day it clicked. She wanted to be like all her favorite Sesame Street characters. Now we can continue to contribute to ending this horrible pandemic ππΌ

Wasnt a hit
I thought the girls ages 5 and 3 would love 5his book, but they were only lukewarm. Perhaps the book was too predictable. It needed a bit of a story rather than lecturing.
