Perfect - resolved my problem. Previously, our mower would take a few pulls to start, and had to cool down in order to restart after using it for a while. With the new part in place, it now starts on one pull every time. Only minor complaint - didn't include installation instructions about setting the proper gap when installing. Found the info on the internet and installed with no problems.

things to ponder
It's a 25 yr old Craftsman lawnmower with a B&S motor. I replaced the old one, sanded the magnets to get the rust off, gapped it with a business card, put it all back together and it started right up! I kick myself though because I should have cleaned the contact points on the old one and tried it just to make sure it wasn't the buildup on the points stopping it from running before I cut the old wire to get the boot off. But I'm very satisfied.

Works great, but a boot would be nice
I replaced the original coil on an old MTD wood splitter with this one. It fired right up and ran great. I can't speak to the longevity at this point, but the original set a high bar lasting 20+ years. It would be nice if the spark plug wire had a boot on the terminal, however. The original did. I'm not looking forward to getting zapped in the leg if I lean too close while handling the firewood.

Please read before you buy. (Not good)
Not a direct fit to the part numbers it climes to fit. Bolt holes are to close together and spark plug wire is 2 inches short of the spark plug.
