The Ultimate Book of Darts: A Complete Guide to Games, Gear, Terms, and Rules

I was expecting a book about dart games but only describes a couple. Book looks interesting though.

Loved this book! I thought it was put together great and gave an all around look at the game of darts.

Of course I think it is a great book, I wrote it! :-)

Have to agree with a previous post, this is a history book and not a book to help improve anyone's game. The description 'share in the euphoria that comes of the “kill shot” by learning the skills and techniques required to play a great game of darts.' is pathetically wrong.I would love to get a negative number for this piece of misleading advertising.

If you are looking for a book to help on improving your game keep looking.This book is absolutely useless unless you want to know all about the history of darts and you can get that for free online.Save your money.

Not really what I was after

This book is haphazardly cobbled together from a variety of places and sources. It mostly seems like something the author compiled for herself and her friends. Most of the chapters pointed towards beginners are just discussions of other books and sources. The chapter on different darts games is particularly poor, as the rules given are vague and incomplete. The section on records seems pointless since it was immediately out of date. Many of the chapters are just places to give the author's friends a voice, which makes the book wildly inconsistent in quality, tone, and aims. The most valuable parts are the references to other materials, which in the age of Google, is self-defeating. In short, if you are new this book is woefully inadequate and if you are an experienced player there is probably nothing here you need or can't find easily elsewhere. Pass on this one.

This book attempts to provide some information for everyone - hence the title "a Complete Guide..." Sometimes it's a little overwhelming and I found myself skipping over huge chucks because it wasn't telling me something I didn't already know. So for the experience Dart's reader you will find little new here, however for the new player this might be the only book you'll need.
