Godzilla's Finest Hour figure
First, to get it out of the way, the S. H. MonsterArts line is one of your more "high end" lines of figures and is Not intended for anyone under 15. These figures are for the more hardcore collector/stop motion animation enthusiasts. These aren't figures a child should be playing with. Now that the warnings for the figure is out of the way let's begin the review of Sh MonsterArts Godzilla 1995 or Burning Godzilla. For those who haven't seen Godzilla vs Destroyer/Destoroyah I'll go into the history of this Godzilla.History: On Birth Island, Godzilla was suddenly disturbed by an unknown cause. The resulting chain reaction quickly burned the isle and boiled the sea, turning the once tranquil setting into a smoldering graveyard beneath the waves. Godzilla and his adopted son disappeared. Meanwhile in Hong Kong, the eerie calm of the still night was suddenly shattered when something fearful arose from the harbor. Godzilla, glowing with a fiery intensity, burned its way through the steaming sea and crashed its way through the bustling metropolis. The horrified citizens could only run in terror. As Godzilla continued to wreck havoc, it was discovered that the creature was on the verge of a nuclear explosion. Even worse, as it approached Japan, it was searching for more nuclear fuel. Before it could feed, the Super-X3 was deployed to deal with the situation. The highly advanced craft used freezer missiles, cadmium missiles, and a super cold to neutralize the beast. Preserved at -200 degrees, the frozen reptile tilted and fell into the surrounding ocean. Six hours passed, and Godzilla's mobility returned. His fission began to decline, and the world breathed a sigh of relief. Shortly thereafter, Godzilla's son suddenly reappeared, now almost half of Godzilla's height. Godzilla Junior was heading for his birthplace of Adonoa Island, and it was determined that Godzilla was following him from a distance. As Godzilla followed Junior to Adonoa Island, something urgent was discovered about Godzilla's state. It was predicted that the creature would undergo a nuclear meltdown that would bore a hole deep into the Earth. Something drastic would have to be done to stop it. Coincidentally, Tokyo was under siege by a monster called Destoroyah. The monster was, in essence, a living oxygen destroyer. If Godzilla could be led to fight this creature, it could very well share the same fate as its predecessor from the 1950s. The psychics Meru Ozawa and Miki Saegusa were convinced into using their powers to lead Junior to Tokyo, thereby luring Godzilla to Destoroyah and perhaps his demise. By the time Godzilla had arrived in Tokyo, Junior had already subdued Destoroyah in a brutal battle. Godzilla and his son called out to each other in respect, but their reunion was cut drastically short when Destoroyah's final form rose from a burning building. Godzilla took the brunt of Destoroyah's micro-oxygen spray as Junior was airlifted by the disgusting demon and dropped from an extreme altitude. The fall brought Junior to the brink of death, and Godzilla's anger climbed to a new altitude. Godzilla endured the micro-oxygen spray as it clashed with Destoroyah, but Godzilla was soon dragged across Tokyo like a toy. Though Destoroyah's horn beam sliced through Godzilla in a repulsive display of pure cruelty, Godzilla soon sent the malicious monster spitting up vital fluids with his spiral fire ray. Destoroyah reverted into its juvenile forms, but they too were soon subdued Godzilla, ever rising in temperature, trudged over to his fallen son. His attempts to revive him failed, and Godzilla could only give his son a silent farewell. Destoroyah's final form returned, and the indifferent creature shot its micro-oxygen spray at the grieving father. Godzilla was forced to re-enter the fray, and it was once again dragged by Destoroyah's forked tail. Godzilla soon regained his footing and blasted a spiral ray at Destroyah's head. Wounded, the hideous horror took to the sky as the military fired its freezing weapons. The creature plummeted to the Earth, defeated through the exploitation of its one weakness Godzilla's temperature continued to rise as it contemplated the loss of his one true friend, and his inability to exact revenge on his son's murderer. Godzilla's flesh glowed to a new intensity and began to melt. The Super-X3 and numerous freezing weapons attempted to minimize the damage, but the creature's flesh melted away and its skeleton collapsed. A meltdown was imminent, and it would undoubtedly prove to be the greatest nuclear disaster of all time.Be sure to watch Godzilla vs Destroyah film to understand it now onto the important parts of the figure.Articulation: Burning Godzilla has quite a few articulate points from the 3 in his neck, to his jaw, to his wrists (with removable hands), to his tail. He's fully poseable for a wide variety of cool poses. Not all the articulation is perfect however. For example, when his mouth is opened all the way, you can get someone of a "slack jawed" effect because the bottom jaw doesn't line up with the top of the jaw. This can be easily corrected by centering the jaw though. Also, below the right kneecap, the bit of plastic that is part of the leg can move around a little bit.Size Comparison: For a size comparison I've compared it to the Bandai Creation First Gen Burning Godzilla and they both represent the change between the figures along with how each figure was made different. We also compare it to the Sh MonsterArts Godzilla 1994 and we can see that this Godzilla and the previous have differences between the 2.Accessories: For Accessories Burning Godzilla comes with an extra set of claws that are opened and two Maser tanks, DAG-MB96 from Godzilla vs Destroyer (1995) and the other one is the MBT-92 from Godzilla vs Biollante (1989). The Maser tanks cannon's do have swivel action which is quite nice. This figure doesn't come with a beam effect part but if you have bought either the Sh MonsterArts expansion parts for Godzilla or Sh MonsterArts Fire Rodan you can't recreate any scenes without said part. Conclusion: This figure is a fantastic sculpt and a great figure if you can see if you can get this figure under 70 dollars try to get it or if you are a Godzilla collector you might want to see figure for itself.

all in all probably my favorite so far
his legs do have some gaps if you move them alot but mine just strikes a pose on a shelf and its not to hard to hid those of all the burning godzilla's I have seen this is the only figure that does him justice he is a translucent plastic with the green painted over to make it look like hes really melting from the core i love it! He comes with 2 little tanks which are nice but i think they should have included more if they wanted to go that rout and also a pair of interchangeable hands that are a bit silly they are almost no different but whatever thats nice i guess. My only real issue being in these pictures the prototypes tail is alot more flexible if you look at the end its twisting side to side and if you get yours you will notice the last 7 or 8 segments are just a thick straight line, but if you are looking for a good desk toy or shelf piece and myself owning all the godzilla's from this line i would say hes the best one and i think the only figure in the line i like more than him as kiryu

Warning: This figure ships with massive joint seams
Based on Godzilla's last appearance in the Hesei timeline, from 1995's "Godzilla vs. Destroyah", this Monsterarts figure is the epitome of the good and bad when it comes to this line.First, the good. The detail is incredible. At first glance, the prices these figures tend to go for seem a bit head-scratching, but when you get them in-hand you can truly appreciate the work and craftsmanship that goes into it. Everything from the eyes, the teeth, the spines, the skin texture, and the nails are so well done. The paint apps are clean and really pop on this figure. They nailed the effect of the burning patterns that are internally in Godzilla in the film. So the translucent effect really stands out in much better fashion than the merely painted style of the vinyl figures from Bandai. Some people complain that the spines on the tail are too white and look weird with the orangs spine son the back, and while they don't match and it does look odd, that's unfortunately how the suit was in the film, so the figure is actually very accurate. The articulation is very good but I will say because of the seams it realistically is more limited than some of the other figures since just about everybody will pose them in a manner to hide as many seams as possible. Now, the bad is in the joint seams. This has been a reoccurring issue for Tamashi in this line but this is one of the worst offenders. This figure is shipped with MASSIVE seams by his thighs and waist. That's a warning. I actually returned my first one because I thought it was broken but then my second figure shipped exactly the same way. You can play around with the thighs and push them in to hide the seams and I actually think that is what you are supposed to do because it helped a ton. So don't totally panic when you can literally see through the figure by his seams in the package--it does get better.Aside form that, this figure comes with two military tanks (tiny of course) and a spare set of hands that look a bit more dynamic. That's a nice addition and kind of helps this figure become a more worthy purchase. I will say this is one mean looking Godzilla. He has a lot of attitude and looks way more menacing than the '94 version that jumpstarted this very line.
