An untidy wrap up for the series, that's it. Nothing exciting. At All.
I am so So Sorry about writing a bad review, however, this is to be the end!!!??? What a Lame Ending! Everything was so rushed and cobbled together and then and wrapped up in a (not so) tidy bow.Unlike some other fans, I didn't read elsewhere that this was the last book in the series. ~However, after the first chapter of this book it became very apparent that this would be a "wrap" up- end of the line- story. It was so obviously written as a book/series that the author had lost interest in and given up on.I wish the author had just stopped at the last book and left me with the good memories- because this book was soulless and limp. After loving this series for years, following it diligently this ending was a let down. I knew that this series could only go so far upping the ante constantly with scarier, more powerful ghouls, but to take every ghost from the previous books and throw them together in a hodge podge of ghost hunting was lame. Really lame. This plot is similar to the Scooby Doo 2 movie... and BTW, the movie was better.********(Spoiler_ Kind of)They Re-Face famous ghouls from their past.... dum, dumb, dummmmmbbbbb. Gilley is moving on, M.J. is moving on and every one will be happy ever after. No creep factor, no interesting plot, just a whirl wind, uninteresting rehash of past ghouls. And who is the bad person? Some guy??? Where was he in the beginning??? Never heard of him before???- He's just some scapegoat villain who is conveniently thrown in at the end of the plot like an ending to a poorly written amateur mystery. Nothing will stand out in my mind months from now.

Good, but not Great.
This series has been one of my favorites for fun, a little bit of fear and just mindless enjoyment. I was sort of blindsided in the author's forward when she said this would be the last one, and that may have tainted my reading, because I was just so bummed the whole time that it was coming to an end. Without spoiling too much, I thought the premise was interesting, but everything wrapped up so quickly and easily at the end that I never felt as fully engaged as I have in past books. This series has always had the creative problem that every book's master spook is the biggest, baddest, most dangerous ever encountered, and that ultimately only takes you so far if you're not willing to have anything too permanently bad happen to the characters. From the beginning I felt like the happy ending where everybody's stable and nothing interesting ever happens anymore was a foregone conclusion, and that made all of the drama ring hollow.

Worse they learn that Gilley has loaned this dangerous item ...
This is the 10th and final book in the Ghost Hunter Mystery series and it delivers nonstop action and a more than satisfying series resolution. MJ and Heath return from vacation only to find that the Oruc Dagger...one of the most demonic relics entrusted to their care...is missing. Worse they learn that Gilley has loaned this dangerous item to the museum as part of a collection celebrating their TV show, Ghoul Getters, and the upcoming movie release, The Haunting of the Grim Widow. While he assures them he has taken all the proper precautions, they rush to the museum to retrieve the dagger before disaster strikes. This sets them on an adventure that could literally be the death of one or more of them as the dagger is stolen and previously vanquished evil spirits mysteriously reappear to destroy them. I loved this story and the interactions between MJ, Heath, Gilley and her friends. While I am sorry to see an end to this series, I appreciate the way the author ended this series.

A Perfect Endcap to a Wonderful Series
Victoria Laurie has done quite a few things that many authors aren't able to do: 1) Keep her readers interested in a 10-book series and always want more; 2) develop the characters and stories so fully that we feel like M.J. is one of our best friends; 3) when she decides she's done with the series, she ends it on such a wonderfully high note — containing all the elements of the series that readers love best — that we feel the loss greatly and fully as we read the final page of this book.A quick sum-up: M.J., Heath, and Gilley are back for one last showdown with the Spooks. And I won't say how many or which Spooks, since I am a spoiler-free zone, but I will tell you that the story contains everything a reader loves about Laurie's supernatural mysteries: incredibly scary ghoulies, plenty of Gilley screaming bloody murder ("OH MY GOD! IS IT BEHIND ME?!?!?"), immense heart (so many feels in this last installment — get out your hankies), and Laurie's trademark wit (I swear, I want M.J. to be my best friend, it's like we were separated a birth). Longtime Ghost Hunter fans will not be disappointed, and if you're not familiar with this series, do yourself a great favor and pick up a copy of the first book, "What's a Ghoul to Do?", and get reading!

Taken from the back of the book. "M. ...
Taken from the back of the book. "M.J., Heath and Gilley are back home in Boston, when their new film is sure to be a monster hit!" Gilley makes a mistake and is talked into donating a dagger to the local museum that is promoting the film. Not just any dagger, a dangerous dagger that keeps a ghost named Oruc and his pet demon locked down in the lower realms. Things start to happen fast and hard when the dagger is stolen.WOW what a way to end a series. Victoria Laurie tossed all kinds of twists and surprises at the readers on this one. I was so drawn in I read it in two days. I am going to miss M. J., Heath, and Gilley and all of their adventures.

So sad that this series has come to an end, but what a way to end it!! I literally could not put this book down! Extremely well-written and fast-paced! Great to be back with MJ and Heath! So many exciting things happened in this book! So sad to this wonderful, series end, but it went out with a bang! A must-read for anyone who likes paranormal thrillers!

Excellent read as usual
Excellent read as usual. Possibly even more so as so many things happen in this book. Lots of 'EEK!' and crazy and major events in the characters' lives which leads me to believe this may be the last in the series. I hope not!
