I really like this self tanner
I love this self tanner. I've used coco and eve before, along with a few others, and they are fine. But this color looks truly tan, and does not appear orange on me. The smell is a neutral self-tan smell - tolerable for me. You should use baby powder on your creases (antecubital space, knees, feet, hands, armpits) to reduce the creasing that every self tanner causes. Works like a dream. Definitely want to use this product sparingly on the hands and feet and you can see the color developing very quickly. I noticed a slight smell after my first shower but nothing I thought about for more than a few seconds. It did not get splotchy as it faded at all.

Great tanner for uber pale skin.
Okay so first, I love this stuff. I have legit pale ass skin and not the pale like "Oh I'm kinda tan/olive skin so I think I'm pale..." I have LEGITIMATE pink pale skin. I do not tan. At all. This stuff however fools the world! One application and I have such a pretty glow the next day that isn't ridiculous. My favorite things about this are; Its extremely easy to apply since you can actually see where you've been on your skin, it comes out dark brown. It smells nice HOWEVER I will warn you when you sleep in it be prepared to smell when you wake up, I think the fragrance wears off overnight but that's okay! Because you've got to shower it off anyway.(and the stank is gone once you're done showering which is even better because most self tanners stick with you... ) Also, this threw me off in the morning after; Once you shower it looks like it all came off and your standing there like "WHAT THE FUNK." Still pale and ghostly.Well I was pissed off for a while until I passed a mirror again and noticed that I was darkening. SO beware that it looks like it all came off- Once you shower off the excess you'll start to tan so don't layer it over again or you're gonna go overboard. The great thing about this though is i can go out after a shower pretend I'm sunbathing. . . haha. "OH look what nature did... oh this? of course I tan naturally!" No one is the wiser. It gives you a GOLD color. Some people are saying brown and keep in mind it is still a sunless tanner. You won't turn strange orange like (i personally) do with jergens you get sun kissed gold, kind of like those magazine ads for ocean breeze scented perfumes... or whatever. But the undertones are brown which makes it a really nice color. It did not streak on me at all. None whatsoever and if you moisturize your knees and elbows and hairline before you apply you'll be fine. The only part it kinda blotched was the sides of my feet but those are dry as hell and I knew as I was applying that the tan would likely do that there. Also while I was applying i was pretty reckless and just rubbed all over, went over spots I already covered just to make sure I got everything and it all deposited evenly once I showered so it seriously seems goof-proof... I'm not sure how some people are messing it up, but meh. GET A MITT. This thing is wonderful. Probably the greatest accessory for ST. Tropez tanning because I would be lost without it. There is no way I could apply with my hands and get it as even. It's only $5 . . . if you're already spending the 30 on this you might as well get the mitt. The best tip I can give when applying to your face is to use a cheap ELF powder brush, squirt a bit of tanner on your mitt and swirl the brush in it then kinda buff your face like you're applying makeup. This gives me the most even coverage. PUT LOTION ON YOUR EYEBROWS THOUGH. Ha. For the love of god don't put the tan on your brows. If I had one complaint it would be the price, but honestly I'll pay it because its the only tanner I like for my skin and i'm clumsy with self tanners so the fact that its pretty fool proof makes it my best fran'. Also I love the wash off glow for some brief darkening if I prefer without the commitment. So.. get it on with that too.

If you're on the fence, jump over to the tan side
This stuff is the absolute bomb and if you are hesitating to buy it, do it, you won't regret it. I'm naturally pale and over the years have done everything I can to be tan. I used to sunbed tan and, when possible, lay out for hours a day during the summer. I love to be tan but even the sunbed tans didn't look great, I just looked kinda crispy. When I grew up enough to start foregoing UV rays, of course I tried the Jergens and it was okay but it didn't get me brown like I wanted. Then this spring, I tried a custom spray tan and it was AMAZING! It was brown and gorgeous, nothing like the spray tans at the tanning salons. I fell very much in love and wanted to get them all the time, but at $50 a pop it wasn't reasonable, and it also wasn't convenient. Thus began my search for a better at-home solution and this stuff is it. For best results, you must exfoliate well before you apply it. Make sure you don't have any lotions on except for knees and elbows. People recommend a mitt, but I've only ever used it with disposable gloves and it works really well and you don't get a lot of wasted product soaking in. I recommend shaving the morning or night before so you can moisturize after your shave and still exfoliate before the tan. I have shaved at the same time as my exfoliation and it's fine, but my legs feel dry overnight (until I can moisturize in the morning) and the tan can be a little darker in the hair follicles on my lower legs, but it's not a huge deal. I pretty much just followed the recommendations of the other reviews here. I start with my lower legs and work my way up, using 2 pumps for calves, 2-3 for thighs, 2 per arm (1 lower, 1 upper), 1 on chest, 1 on upper back, 1 on stomach, and 1 on lower back. Wipe in an upward, curved motion. The curve motion helps it blend and be less streaky. It will seem kinda wet at first but just keep wiping and in about 30 seconds it will be pretty much worked in. You can see the color as it goes on so it's fool-proof. When done applying, I take the gloves off, wash my hands, then use any excess on the gloves for the back of my hands and my face. Take caution around the wrists, that's where I've noticed the most line of demarkation because I wash my hands more often than anything else. Go for less around the wrists, especially on the underside. You can always take a baby wipe to any creases you think might overdevelop (like inner wrist, toes, etc). Apply the tan at night, it dries by the time you're done applying it but if you feel a little sticky you can put baby powder on and it won't affect the tan. Sleep in it, you'll wake up dark and kinda dirty looking, then I shower with soap and a loofah. The water will run brown. Pat yourself dry with your towel and moisturize all over. You'll have a gorgeous, natural-looking, golden brown tan. It's seriously so beautiful. If you want to be darker, you can do it again to taste. I've never done it more than twice (like two nights in a row). It builds well, still looks golden- brown, but I've found layering it makes it a tiny bit more streaky. It's not a big deal at all, mainly only noticeable in sunlight, but it just looks a bit less fresh and that's even with exfoliating before the second time. Definitely exfoliate before any time you apply. I was kinda bummed that exfoliating was necessary because it's kind of a pain to do, but I just use a sugar scrub and an exfoliating glove I got at the dollar store and it's not that bad, especially once you learn the areas that need the most attention. Exfoliating in circular motions is my quickest method. When I'm wearing this tan, I moisturize my entire body after every shower. This will help maintain the color and help it fade more evenly. It's standard fake-tan care. I used this product quite frequently and the bottle lasted me four months. When I re-ordered, I actually bought the darker version, because I wanted to be darker! St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse, 6.7 fl. oz. . It's more expensive but it is the perfect amount darker and still the same great quality, and still a buildable color. Don't fear if you think the mousse or your skin is kinda greenish, it's the green tint that leaves the brown color instead of orange. If you want to take care of your skin, love being tan, and are ready to graduate from things like the Jergens lotion that just don't cut it, try this product. I can't imagine using it with proper prep and care and not totally falling in love. I'll use it for the rest of my life. Worth every penny.

Wear gloves!
It works! No unpleasant smell (yay!) and it's easy to apply because you can see the color go on your skin. Instant tan! Be SURE to wear gloves and maybe a mitt (my bottle didn't come with either which was a bummer). The color rubbed off on the inside of my clothes I was wearing (just the inside) but it does come out in the wash. Next day when I showered I could see the excess wash off and I was left with a nice color! Lasts for approx. 4 days. Hint...watch out for knees, elbows and toes. Go lightly on those areas. I used a little lotion on those areas after applying to even it out a bit. 4 stars because I had to buy gloves! They are a MUST!

Get tons of compliments when I use this product. It gives a nice looking tan without looking orange or getting patchy. Just make sure to exfoliate and moisturize before using it. Have tried other brands before but I think St. Tropez is the best!

Never again.

This is the second best self tan that I’ve used I absolutely found The in shower self tan the best so this one is the second best because I can’t buy in shower anymore so this is good. It doesn’t leave you looking orange and as long as you put it on with a mitt it doesn’t go streaky and smells quite pleasant. It’s not overly expensive so I’d say all in all a good product.

Gorgeous light tan, dries fast and looks super natural, maybe too natural if you want something darker. It’s moisturising too which I absolutely love. Fool proof literally. I’m not good at applying tan but it always blends sooooo well and washes off beautifully.
